Hate to burst your bubble, but the probards calendar is a giant pain to use. The event has to be created in the calendar, you aren't able to move items into it. Several of us mods who host events, tried using it to coordinate events, and had nothing but problems with it, so we stopped. If someone wants to set up a calendar, feel free. The current system is working just fine, so I don't see any reason to change it on the forum. I wasn't very clear in my statement. I was not judging anyone when I said it should've been thought of years ago, and wasn't specifically implying that the ProBoards Calendar should've been the one used. I was just speaking of the idea of using a calendar in general. Also, as previously mentioned, in my original idea I never had any intent on replacing the current system or modifying it. My only intention was to add to it, and make it easier to go through. I got the inspiration to write this idea down when I had just came back from vacation and I was looking at the events section, trying to find something I could go to that would fit my soon-to-be cluttered schedule(School+work). Because I was still tired and sore from traveling, I was a bit overwhelmed with the format in which the events are named, namely the two different date formats being used(i.e. 15AUG vs 8/15). In brief, what I'm trying to say is; I just think that instead of looking at when such and such events are happening, it'd be simpler for someone to look at the days they have free time and see if any events coincide with their schedule.

The google calendar would also be nice to show people the places that are open every weekend (for example: TDT).

I had brought this idea to the Mod's Thread about three or four months ago, and we tried it, but as Pagan stated the proboards calendar sucks.
If anyone would want to actually maintain that, I'd have no issue with them posting information regarding any events I host. Right now some of the more prominent event hosts have a mutual agreement to not run events on the same weekend, mainly to encourage higher player counts. My main reason for hosting these days is that when I was 17 and playing airsoft back in 2007, the summer months were packed with at least a rec game every weekend, and a major event or scenario game at least twice a month. These days we really don't have to worry about that anymore, since not as many people put on events.
I've got three events in total reserved with Hell Survivors field before this year is up, and I'll be releasing the follow up events as soon as the details are figured out. As I said before, anyone that wants to copy and paste the information on the event to whatever calendar system is out there feel free, just ensure you include links to our rulesets.

Like I said I'd be happy to take a whack at the proboards calendar but it looks like ogres got it handled.

I agree with everything said and love this idea! MIA needs to become more competitive in a time when I'm betting the majority of new players are going straight to social media for airsoft related activities instead of forums (this is definitely the case in Northern Michigan from my experience). Is there any way to embed the google calendar into the site? Yup; but the mods were either unable or unwilling to embed MAP so it may not be possible to do it with Calendar. If one of the forum moderators or administrators wanted to enable the proboards calender function/tab I would be happy to operate and maintain it. The absolute most difficult part with MAP was finding people willing to actually compile/manage it; Wraith531 your the f**king man for offering to help do this! This also needs a catchy three letter acronym ASAP!

I thought AC (Airsoft Calender) or ARC (Airsoft Rally Calender). Those two literally came off the top of my head.

AEC makes the most sense but ARC sounds the coolest.
