G&G CM16 Mod 0 - How to remove the trigger guard and replace

The one side of the trigger guard has a simple roll pin which I can remove without any issue. The other side has what appears to be a roll pin but you can only see / access it from one side. I have no idea how this pin should/can be removed.

Push it in with a pin. It's like a spring loaded pin. At least that's how my G&G challenge kits trigger guard was.

It is not the standard spring loaded pin. It literally looks like a roll pin pushed in the hole but nothing on the other side to push it through (out). I am stumped and that does not happen very often. I can't believe that I have scoured the internet and I can't find a single source about the issue.
