Thanks to all the airsofters that made the journey to Hole in the Wall Paintball for our 2nd Annual Michigan Airsoft Spring Recreational Event. The weather today couldn’t have been better for such an action packed but relaxed afternoon of airsoft! I saw a lot of new faces out on the field today; welcome to the Michigan Airsoft community guys. I hope to see you on the field again sometime! To the longtime members of the community and the old-time faces; it’s always a pleasure to see you all having a great time on the field, see you again soon! Today was one of the best displays of sportsmanship that I have seen in a long time. Way to play with integrity guys! I can only really recall two semi-serious “call-it!” remarks all day long, and even then I feel there was a margin for error. Firefights and combat were intense throughout the day. All teams/players were playing hard and all battles were hard-won or lost. Way to play guys! A personal and special thanks goes out to my girlfriend, my friends/airsoft team, and Hole in the Wall Paintball. None of this would be possible without your friendship, help, and dedication… Throughout the day, I tried snapping as many pictures as possible. Unfortunately, they don’t want to upload for some reason. I’ll try again in the morning. The ‘Recreational Event’ style of airsoft event seems to be popular based on the outcome of the last two we’ve attempted. I’m considering making this event bi-annual in the early spring and the late summer (before high school and college kicks back in). Once again, thank you so much Michigan Airsoft, none of this would be possible without you! I would like to thank Canto for an amazing event, honestly this was the best time I've had playing Airsoft, even at my own events. Those who have been to Bangor know how rough the terrain is and I love it. It takes some motivation to assault straight up the ridges and I was doing it all day. Camping friday night I think really boosted the experience for Slippy and I. We really enjoyed being about to hang out with FLAK and shoot the shit around the bonfire. Now I will get into the breakdown of the event. Pro's: There was plenty of targets and despite the weird colors that wound up just being thrown everywhere, there was few friendly fire incidents. 7ish hours of hard gameplay. 40ish players. Even teams throughout the day, I found myself winning as much as I was loosing and vice versa. The clusterf*@k engagement I led my team into when we did 3 teams, My team green took the ridge immediately and got pushed on by both yellow and pink at the same time. Decent amount of players with Sniper Rifles/R-Hoped guns resulted in some pretty crazy long distance firefight. My favorite engagements of the day centered around Deadwood, the buildings there are always amazing. Sid, Hunter & that one other guy on FLAK that was actually playing They were awesome to sling plastic against/with. Cons: More personal than anything Came over-prepared. Probably brought 3 days worth of food and didn't eat any of it cus Mcdonalds. Bates combat boots got torn to hell. Its a $100+ pair of boots, what the hell? Thanks Obama. I feel like we should have done capture points when we had the whole field to our selves but I understand with 30 people you can't really play the whole field. Canto never played, I wanted a chance to peg him in the ass from 200ft. Overall this was an amazing REC event and I can't wait until Firestorm. Thanks for putting on this event Canto.

It was definitely the best "rec" game ive been to, im always more into the role playing in airsoft, and rec games are normally far more disorganized, but Id say I had almost as much fun at this as i have a the bigger milsim events. Met some great guys, as this was my second MIA game ever.
My one favorite game was the "child soldier", not because of the firefight or anything, just because all us old guys got to make fun of ourselves and how slow we move the whole time.
Overall 10.2 out of 10. (Hunter gets a .2 for being extremely entertaining when we first arrived)

I had a BLAST! That is of course after getting there and blowing a fuse before we even got inside! Some electrical tape and a couple minutes later we were ready to get some haha. I thoroughly enjoyed the "old" players taking down the defending "young guns." Not to mention an epic stealth flanking OP resulting in 3 "knife/bank" kills in a row! I definitely look forward to getting out there more, as well as my cousin who was with me. For his first airsoft event he dove right in and had nothing but good things to say about the community! Needless to say he's in now hook, line, and sinker! Well all positive with the exception that the same person got him out every round haha. Anyways I'd say schedules willing you got two more players you can count on for ALL future events!

I'd have to say, this game was the most fun I've had at a rec event! Thanks Canto and the rest of your support team for letting us get out! The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Normally we don't get over to the other side of the state until later in the year for Ops. After yesterday we'll definitely put more consideration in to other Recs. I really enjoyed the field in its early spring openness. The main low area having virtually no grass made for some neat changes from what we are used to. I was surprised at how dry most areas were, considering we're mid-spring. Normally the ridges are crawling with people, and getting bogged down is expected. I loved how big and open everything felt, and the room to maneuver was refreshing. There were a lot of people new to the field, but they seemed to adapt quickly. My only complaint was that I didn't get to see anyone fall in the creek, which I normally get to see when we are there. Gameplay was excellent. The pacing between games seemed a bit long at first, but as the day went on, it kept the the mood relaxed and I ended up enjoying it. I really liked being able to talk to the other team after a game. I don't really get a chance to normally do that when we are on the field for 3-4 hours before a break. It made it feel more like I was playing with friends, rather than just "the other team". I had a blast rolling with the other multicam guys throughout the day. It's nice to find people who's style compliments your own, even without playing with them before. I had a blast during the three team game, even though I was one of the first out on our team. We made a great push to move ridge to ridge and ended up sandwiching green right in to pink team. (You're welcome pink. Thanks for sweeping up the couple we didn't get ). Child soldier was fun. I'm with you muskrat--It was just as much fun making fun of our oldness as it was shooting the kids. I think I would have preferred the defense scenarios to have attackers have unlimited spawns and defenders have maybe one. I felt like limiting lives for attackers took a lot of the desperation and push out of the game type. Just my opinion though. The highlight of my day is a three way tie between some of the crazy-long shots you can get off the ridges, taking out my brother in one of the two games we played against each other, and the look on Sid's face when he shot my P* on the ridge the first time. Thanks everyone for an awesome day!

Looked at my Bates, the soles are trashed. Bangor is now the place where all my gear comes to die.

Well I for one don't agree with the "dry" terrain haha. several times I found myself sunk down into mud and nastyness up past my ankles haha. Totally worth it though! My only let down was the 3 team game BOTH my primary and sidearm decided they had enough and stopped working other than that it was a blast!

I had a great time as well. An excellent first experience. I will definitely be back. My buddy also greatly enjoyed it and is looking to get his own gear. It was hilarious in the old vs young when it all started, us old guys casually started walking while the young ones were sprinting.
