So I've been pretty lazy with my CA, so I've been considering fixing her up for duty again. Same problem though, I don't have the 2 screws to mount the motor plate to the pistol grip! Anyone know if it's possible to buy those screws at a Home Depot?

They usually have a test "thing" sitting around where you can try different screw types. Just bring your gearbox and pistol grip in to the store. I'm sure you can find something that will work.
EDIT: I just noticed my quote in your sig.I have nothing else to say

Not sure if they will have any in that size and thread, you may have to just bite the bullet and look up an exploded diagram online retrieve the part # and order it if its still available. I know it can't be too uncommon of parts. Also Happy Birthday, and sorry about the gun.

If you knew what the screw dimensions were, with thread and pitch, then you could go on www.mcmaster.com/ and buy them there. They have EVERYTHING.

It's almost certainly metric. My local Ace has a good selection of metric bolts but I have found home depot and lowes very lacking. Is this thing screwing into plastic or metal? Some grips have a threaded insert and others just have screws that go into the plastic.

Metal. It's all threaded.

I buy my screws in bulk on McMaster due to the cheapness and volume of customer guns that need random screws. These are the most common size on an AEG, I usually use an m3 x 8mm Flat head machine screw for the pistol grip baseplate screws.
