I was curious as to how to build a RPS LMG, and what you guys would suggest for internal parts?

I was curious as to how to build a RPS LMG, and what you guys would suggest for internal parts? Have you done any research about this at all? You've made a lot of these types of threads recently, and as it's been stated before, it's easier for us to help you if we know you've done some research before hand. This forum is a great source of information, but we're not here to spoon feed you.

I personally believe that High ROF LMGs are pointless. The purpose of a an LMG in airsoft is to keep people's heads down with sustained fire. A 15 RPS gun can achieve nearly the same result as a 30 RPS gun but it can do it for twice as long. Not to mention the work required to get a gun reliably feeding at that rate. It just seems like a waste of time to me.

Basically all aeg's have to sacrifice muzzle velocity for rate of fire. You can get a gear box to do 25+ rps at 400 fps but it takes a lot of work and money. The easy way out: Polarstar M60

Easy from a tech standpoint That is an oddly specific post. Such detail and insight.

can we agree that high ROF support gunners are kind of pointless, and hard to build

I do completely agree that it is a complete waste of ammo. Hell, my G&P M4 that shoots 27rps is a complete waste of ammo on full auto. It is pretty easy to suppress most people with 2-3 shot bursts every 10 or so seconds.

My team member, Blaze, runs a support weapon we call the 'Plastic Death'. Best support weapon ever. It shoots like 11 rps on a good day and he bought it for something like $30.

Would you care to be more specific about why this support weapon is great, or is this a thread of unfounded statements?
Nothing wrong with wasting ammo when it costs pennies to burn through a hundred rounds of fury.

A slower firing weapon is a weapon under less stress, which translates to longevity. It is also a weapon that will take much longer to go down for reloading. 11 RPS will keep someone's head down just as well as 30 RPS, but it will do it for 3 times longer. You may lose a little intimidation factor (30 RPS sounds rather insane), but it only takes one BB to send you back to respawn and comrades going down around you trends to get the point across.
