THere's a guy on another forum selling a great deal of guns and has nearly all the different model UMPs (Star, Ares, G&G) and is really only missing the Classic Army and the "sigh" S&T one.
I've been looking to pick one up but keep reading conflicting statements and since the Ares and Star one havne't been made in such a long time I'm having a really hard time tracking down reliable info about their preformance. Does anyone here have any experience with these older model UMPs?

I owned the G&G version and it was pretty solid. I'd recommend it if you get it for a good price.

If I remember right (don't quote me on this) the STAR UMP had problems with the body cracking I believe, could be the G&G though (first gen).

Yea that's them. There actually the guys that bought that huge 20K collection up on ASF a few months ago. Trimmed out the ones they wanted and are piecing out the rest. What where you looking for yours Timm? They were offering the G&G one for 180$ literally new in box.
So from everyones report the G&G one is the way to go. I guess the fact that there mid caps only hold 50 won't be too big of a deal since this would really only be something for indoor play and for collection sake.
