I just want to make a thread where people can discuss their favorite game types. Or even discuss new game type ideas they might have.
This might lead to more... "interesting" airsoft games in the future. I'm not saying they aren't fun already i'm just saying that if we have a wider variety of game types, then we could potentially attract a wider group of people to the airsoft sport.

I've always enjoyed the reverse 300 game that SK puts on. It's when at the beginning of the game there is a larger group vs a smaller group and as the larger group gets shot, they join the opposing team until everyone is eliminated. It's pretty fun.
Another fun but not at all serious game is the civil war game. It's absolutely stupid but its actually funny. Civil war is when opposing sides line up face to face like they did in the civil war and each side takes turns shooting one shot from the hip (no aiming). After each volley, each side takes one step closer. If you get hit, you are supposed to drop to the ground. Again, really stupid but pretty fun.

Both of those sound fun! I have always liked the infection game modes. I was thinking of one where you have 4 tough people start on one team and have them melee only. Then everyone else uses pistols. The objective is to infect everyone. Or for the other team it is to survive. But the infected dont die when they are hit first shot. They die when they deside they had enough pain. Or by head shot. I think a head shot should stop them for ten seconds. But if you are killed by infected you become one. So basically the survivors run for their lives and attempt to live as long as possible.

I enjoy a good capture the flag game. Two flags, one in each base, go.
Why does nobody do this anymore?

I'm always down for a good VIP game. Fight to get the VIP, then turn around and evac the VIP out.

We used to do that and Knief's version of Capture The Flag where a player would have to bring the flag to a ref who moved around throughout the round to keep it going. But we should definitely do it at our next Action Paintbal/No Limits game.

We will never endorse "to the pain" games or headshots as a goal. Both are extremely dangerous and disrespectful to your fellow players. Come on out to some real games and check out how this hobby is supposed to be enjoyed.

I just like unique interesting game modes. It is fun to change it up once in awhile. I really like sabotage game modes where each team has a "bomb" and they try to detonate it at one location.

I have put some thought into a longer played, multi objective (bits if VIP, capture, holding positions, hidden intel, bomb, and more) game involving rubix cubes. Mix them up to plant, then have either VIP/bomb specialists that know how to disarm(solve) the bomb. Then if no specialists, you could have Manila envelopes with those guides as hidden intel through out the field.
More details, specifics, and objectives could be arranged, just some thoughts/ideas.
Would need an attentive group to play it with, and more of a milsim-esk game play style, but I have been dying to try it.

I enjoy "Hostage" games modes. Civies are held by the terrorists/enemies while the Opposing forces attempt to save them all by way of diversion/elimination(however they like) before the timer runs out. A certain amount of points for each Civie in possession of each team.
I.E Opposing forces only rescued X amount of civies, therefor they only get X amount of points. After the round is over, you switch sides and see who has the largest point total. Not my favorite(Which is Capture the flag), but thoroughly enjoyable.
Personally, Pain Games disgust me and should be left at home.

Could you make two six sided die and roll them to see what we get?

I think it would be fun to go to some abandoned neighborhood in Detroit and have a capture the flag game there.
But coordination with officials or authorities would probably be needed to do that. It would be a little scary too, because someone who had a bad day could bring a real gun and wreak havoc.

I think it would be fun to go to some abandoned neighborhood in Detroit and have a capture the flag game there. Not quite the right idea. Unless land was bought up an had at least a basic safety check, and was partitioned off from the surrounding area, I would never play there. I like the urban ruin feel, but unless it was a sanctioned playing field, I would never risk my life to plan in such a setting.
