So yeah, this mod is pretty sweet. My accuracy has definitely improved; very consistent in sending the round down the same path.
Only it's improved and consistent to the right. When I look down the hop chamber and inner barrel, back to front, it looks as though the concave nub sits to the left of center.
Window alignment causing the bucking to pinch? The hop rubber I'm using is a Modify/Baton; lugless. The nub I cut in half? I don't see how you can get an utmost clean cut when cutting little pieces of rubber in half, ha ha.
Before I go rip tearing through my rifle again, and attempting to carefully chip off the concave nub from the hop arm, any advice?

What kind of rifle did you do this to? I got awesome results flat hopping my kids Agm L96. Really improved the range and accuracy.

A G&G GR-16 w/ 6.01 509mm inner, shooting between 304-306fps with .25's.
I came across a Star Folder thread about the flat hop and seen there's a few things I still have to do that the youtube idiots didn't bother mentioning.
Got some experimenting to do, as I have that concave nub and the flat nub that came with the Modify/Baton hop rubber.

How hard was it to flat hop for the M4/M16? The hopup is pretty tight so getting the flat hopped barrel in would be tricky I figure.

No, it has nothing to do with the inner barrel. All in the hop rubber and nub.
Dremel off the hop rubber lug and locking line (long thin strip of rubber on the inside of the bucking), the Modify/Baton bucking already comes lugless.
I must say that the results are far better with the concave nub, in my opinion. The range might not be as far as with the flat nub, but the grouping is much better. It's just a matter of aligning the concave nub perfectly in the hop arm.

Just ordered some IR Hop Z-kits from clandestineairsoft.com, though they're out of M nubs.
The HS5 inner barrels were just a bit too pricey for me at 92.00 for a 470mm 6.03 inner.
Never-the-less, anticipate some much talked about results. If I install the R-Hop correctly that is.
