I might be picking one of these up in a trade soon. The guy told me there is something wrong with the hop up and it don't work right. He told me the only way to fix it is to get a new hop up unit, hop bucking, and inner barrel. That sounds a little far fetched to me. I did some research on this issue and it is very common. I have seen plenty of solutions for this. I would think if everything was there it's probably something minor. I was just wondering if anyone has had one of these with this issue. Any feedback about your experience would be appreciated.

You need to go into more detail. No hop, BB curve, jamming, slow decline in hop, etc. Etc. The way it appears now is like if someone dropped their car off at a shop and told the mechanic the engine won't run properly. Further diagnosis is required.

To further elaborate on what Myers said, we won't know for sure how to help you with this "common" problem until you can actually physically dive into the gun and explain the issues you are having with it to us for us to help diagnose it with you. If there are plenty of solutions then there is probably a variety of things that can be wrong with it ranging from a wide-orientated fix (like buying all new hop-up, bucking, and barrel parts) or a more detailed-orientated fix that may be just replacing the stock crappy bucking or the inner barrel is of horrible QC origin and replacing it fixes your problem.
