I know this might be a bit of a newby question, but I am getting a CM Raider 16 in about two weeks. With this, I am getting a Matrix 1x22x33 Red Dot. With the front A2 post, would I need a riser to use the red dot?
Thanks, Carson

You should look into an aimpoint replica. Most of those come with risers that "co witness" with your front sight. Although my riser is not the proper military style mount it still lines up perfect with the front and rear sights. Maybe Davinci will sell me his Wilcox mount soon... Here is an example and a shameless whoring of my personal work in progress m4a1.

I can point you to one when I'm at my laptop later. Co witness means that your iron sights line up with your red dot or scope, its desirable to have this if your replica has a standard front sight like on the one I pictured.

What is a scar sight? The rear is a KAC 600m. Edit. See! I need to get the tan paint off there.

There are two main types of co witness. 1/3 and 100%. Google will be better at explaining than I am, but that should be a starting point.

Most risen Aimpoint mounts have 1/3 cowitness, like Snafu's cantilever and my Wilcox. (Older shameless self-promotion)

I had the same setup snafu , that mount snapped like a twig though. Be careful with it, I had to go with the other style mount.

Thanks for the heads up Mayhem! I'm actually looking to replace it with something kinda like the one you linked. Actually Davinci has the exact one I'm looking for(a clone Wilcox mount with trademarks).
