As many of us know, there are a lot of people in mid-michigan that like airsoft, but don't have a approved nearby field to play on. this is a poll to see who wants the MiA community to get together, start a kickstarter and create an indoor or outdoor field in the rural area near Charlotte.
EDIT: I would also like some more respected members opinions on this idea.

There is already TC Paintball field in Charlotte but it really isn't large enough to hold true Milsim style games that really bring in profits. If my team could've gotten a decent, or any, profit out of running Rec games out there then we still would be but we could never get the attendance. However I would love to see increased activity in the Mid-Michigan area, so if you can get the interest, business experience and funding together you can count on my team coming to nearly every game.

I'm in Holt, so I'd love to have a field around here. The problem is that most of the people around here just don't get out much. While you'd have my attendance quite often (if its worth the admission fee, at least).
The problem is, we have maybe half as many (if that) active players as Detroit or Kzoo.
All the same, I'll put my fat ass to work if you do go through with it.

I am originally from Charlotte and I plan to return there.
So I approve this message.

Canto hosted games frequently at Chaos Paintball (now TC Paintball) in Charlotte in years past. There were milsim games held there in the winter months. Someone should contact the field manager and see about hosting games at that location again.

Agreed. But I still think we should set up a larger field. Heck, we've got more room and field here in this area than those "tender gents" in the Detroit area!
Edit: I believe the 3.14 guys have a pretty large field. Their team could make some serious profits if they were willing to host a game.

Yeah, I'd love to see more fields in the middle of the state.
If there are teams out there that want to host games and need a little help, I'm more than happy to come out. Granted, it's quite a drive for me (from TC) to get to any fields down-state, so I'm not always available.
It might be worthwhile to try and get several teams Hellfish, Suicide Kings, 3.14, 561, Immortals, etc to coordinate to host a single major event each year at a popular field like Hell Survivors.
Obviously, a lot of us attend the OLCMSS Northern Light game, but it would be cool to also have another HUGE Michigan event and we'd need a HUGE field to make it happen.

A nice outdoor field may draw quite a bi of attendance in from down south. Especially if it gets built up well. Before you start making massive plans for this fiield, you should probably try and get some games going out at the paintball field, just to see what kind of numbers you could expect from the locals. If you feel like you have enough people to start up a field, then do it. I'll be out there with a Hammer and nails if you do.

Agreed. I mean, we could also do a poll or a headcount as to how many would come out for sure. If you feel like you have enough people to start up a field, then do it. I'll be out there with a Hammer and nails if you do. Seconded. I'm gonna contact Kir and his PIE boys and see what he thinks.

Alright, I'll shoot a text out to Ghillegan as well, if he still plays he may be interested. I'll contact Black Star's group and Gater's group in Mason as well, along with The (semi?) inactive group in Lansing. I know we also have a few players out at LCC and State.
No promises there though.
Also, Tracedog, do you already have this land? Or any specific plot in mind? If so, why don't you give us a description of it, a pricetag, and the like.
I'm also wondering how much of the Olivet College crowd would come out if the price was right. No offense to Charlotte or Olivet, but you guys don't have much as far as entertainment. Having some active games at TC and potentially a different field may draw some people in.
I'll see what I can do on my end.

Hey Guys,
This is actually something already in the works by 3.14, we plan on our first events getting announced Mid-Winter, and actually happening spring of next year. We have two slated. One NOOB day style event, and one MILSIM. It will be on a portion of over 2000 acres that's in one location, zip code of 49058, approximately 25 minutes West of Charlotte. I'm glad to see there's interest in this, as we've thought about doing it for a long time but finally have got the finances/organization to do it. So yes, this is happening, we will be announcing both spring events in December/January tenatively.
EDIT: All property is already owned as well, and is privately owned, nothing public. 1/2 mile main drive, two-tracks throughout, and a 15 acre open area for camping, parking, registration.

Bummer, its still an hour away, but a hell of a lot easier of a drive then Detroit or Kzoo. Plus, carpools for the win. You can count me in on most of these events. Anything I can help with?

We will be requesting some volunteer/roleplay/moderating assistance here and there, but will be as the time gets a little closer and we know exactly what holes we have in our planned events.
