So, I lost the spring holding my ARL in place. I already know the risk I'm taking if I leave the ARL out, so I'm not going to. My question is, does anyone know of any ways to make a spring for the ARL that will last? I'm in the process of trying to bend a few different kinds of springs as well as some wire from a welder into the shape of an ARL spring, so if I get any good results, I will throw them out on the thread. Big thanks in advance to anyone that's willing to try and help!

Alright, after a while of messing around, I fashioned a piece of wire from the welder we have into a sort of spring for the ARL. So if anyone reading this finds themselves with the same issue, you should be able to do what I did to save yourself some cash.

I would really only do something like that as a temporary fix. You do not want it to break and end up destroying your gears or piston. You could just get a new arl w/ spring or a gearbox spring kit for like $3 from clandestine or brill armory.

I'm honestly pretty confident that the spring I made will work, as it has a good amount of tension on the bevel gear and doesn't slip too much. As I have two ARLs though, I'll just super glue the spring I made to the ARL and see how it goes. If I hear some grinding and my plan goes to crap, I'll just buy a spring kit like you mentioned. But thanks for the response and the website suggestions, I checked out those websites and they both have some great steals on gearbox parts.
