Hi! ;D
Not terribly new to airsoft, but I am new to AEG's and anything other than GBB pistols. ( I have an M9, I don't remember the brand atm, and a WE Hi-Capa 1911 that I love)
So my brother and I did this jackpot box thing from AirSplat, and he ended up with an APS AK-74, and I ended up with a UHC Super X-9, a bolt action spring/gas sniper rifle.
I'm less than thrilled with the performance of the Super X-9, but the cartridge ejection on the gas bolt is really cool I have nothing else to say
I had so much fun messing around with my brother's AK I had to go get an AEG.. so I went down to Young's in GR and decided on a JG G36K RIS w/crane stock. It chrono'd between 360 and 380fps in the store and around 11/12 rps with a 9.6v battery. I can't quite seem to get the iron sights dialed in just right, I still have to aim a little low, but I'm pretty impressed with the range and accuracy for a stock gun none the less.
I plan on getting started with games after I have a bit more cash to sink into gear (extra mag's/camo/vests/safety gear/etc). I already have some accessories and some longevity/minor performance upgrades coming for the gearbox.. a metal spring guide, shims, and a set of metal 7mm bushings.

Welcome! I assume you messed with the hop up? If not you should do that it should make "dialing in" your iron sights a lot easier. I also run a G36, an E not a K though. Honestly I'd suggest getting a magwell converter. Weaponblender has them for $15. You'll probably have to modify it to fit though (saw off the feed tube on the converter and file it smooth) Looks like you have a good start, welcome to the boards!

Those G36's are getting cheaper and more parts are available every week! A spring guide and bushings are a good start. I would suggest that you look into a new nub and bucking since those are the most bang for the buck you'll ever get in any airsoft gun. And as far as aiming low, coldwave was right (I can't believe I just said that!) You should check to see if your hop up is adjusted the way you want it. Then if it's still firing low, You could adjust in some way your sights in some fashion. Also, a sling should be a quick thing to get. All the parts in the world won't help if you drop it and break the thing.

I have to aim low to hit on target because its firing high. I have the hop up adjusted all the way off but I feel like theres still too much hop. I've been doing a lot of research into hop-ups and nubs and stuff for that reason.. trying to decide whether to go with an aftermarket bucking/nub or go the flat/r-hop route. Also, my G36K came with an m4/m16 magwell pre-installed EDIT: I should add that my hopup issues are with 0.20g BB's, I am going to get some 0.25g to test, as well as maybe some 0.28g

I always like to use heavier BBs so if that's what you have to do then it's all good. But, if you're dead set on using .2's then you could see about adjusting your hop up arm or your nub between your arm and bucking. Maybe you just need a smaller nub. That's an easy fix and you don't have to permanently change anything. I'm a huge fan of the Shredder's concave nub and it is significantly smaller than most other nubs.

I'm gonna start with heavier BBs first and then probably move on to a new hop up nub/bucking after I get a better feel for what the gun does that way. Definitely not set on .2s
