I saw no one had posted any thing on this so I will give a run down of what I have come a cross since owning this and having it for a while.
I got it a few monts ago and I can honestly say its better than I thought. It looks like they out did the we-tech by putting more metal into the internals.
This has been out and skirmished with and it performed great! I only ran on semi auto though as that has been the more comphortable way for me to shoot. I had one issue with a lose valve in one of the mags (the mags usually run 50.00 for the metal ones and 65.00 for the magpul ones and you can get 2 runs out of one fill of green gas) I bought along with the gun, the one that came with the gun was fine. Once that was tightened it has been business as usual. This is what it looked like out of the box.
The stock is a typical LE style stock and pretty normal as far as looks. The carry handle is plastic as well which was a down fall but I don't know many people who keep those on thier rifle any way. I don't even know what I did with it.
The body looked just like the electric models with a few differences in markings obviously. But over all the "paint" is very thin and got scratched up pretty easy once I fielded the rifle. But looks nice when ya first pick it up.
The front hand guard is pretty solid and just like a real ar-15 is as far as I can tell. It's got little to no wobble at all and the barrel is mounted pretty rock solid. The delta ring is mounted too well (more on that later).
The "bolt face" is made up of two different materials the nozzle is metal and so is the thing that feeds the bb's but the outter piece that fits into the bore is plastic. Not to bad of a deal but if your running junk bb's through it on full auto you will cut bb's in half easily. The hop up is adjusted just like the pistols, its through the dust cover, some people have been complaining about the teeth breaking off but I haven't had a problem as of yet.
The internals are pretty solid! Metal every place. I was blown away but only in part. It is a kwa after all. They have had a really nice run lately in my opinion with they're gas blow back systems. I own all kwa pistols and they are all a blast to shoot.
Another shot of the hammer and sear and springs.
The buffer and spring are pretty basic. Plastic buffer and decent spring. I have since tried many combinations of real steel buffer springs and real steel buffers and they will not work at all, Different sizes.
When adding real steel magpul stuff the grip does need to be drilled where the little set screw goes into the trigger guard ears because the kwa body is a little bit smaller than the real deal.
The barrel is threaded 14mm ccw and there is a barrel extension that is also 14mm ccw so you can get a cqb inner barrel and have a cqb that shoots way to hot till there are different valves for it to lower the fps. I have read that theyre are but I only plan on using this out side any way.
Real steel buffer and spring and the kwa buffer and spring.
The upper reciever is a three piece like the old TM ones and when I was trying to remove the delta ring to put my Daniels defense free float on it it twisted the top rail. Hopefully I can get a spare upper so I can send it to a friend of mine to machine me a one piece upper receiver.
The upper and lower are 1/4 inch smaller than a real ar-15 so there is no way you will ever get the real steel stuff to mate up. This is a real ar upper. Looks like this is how they pleased the ATF.
Let me know if you would like any other pictures as I did allot more comparisons with real steel and the kwa.
