So long story short, I ended up running 2 40oz'ers through my hydration bladder a week or so ago at a party. Being the cheap ass that I am, I would rather clean the used one instead of buying another.
Anyone have any techniques or ideas? Honestly in my opinion it's probably FUBAR but might as well search for some insight before I toss it out. It appears to be fairly clean, no mold, just reeks like booze. (And I can imagine would probably taste like shit if I ran water through it again.)

Baking Soda and shaking.

Sounds easy enough, what about the hose though? Just keep running the solution through until it appears to be clean?

If you feel froggy, suck it through.
If not, fill it up and squeeze it though.

On the topic of Hydration bladders, my hose is filled with weird shit. Mold, Dirt, and probably something else. Anyway to clean it? I tried to feed some paracord through, but it kept on bunching up.

Camelbak makes cleaning brushes and kits for their hydration bladders, most likely compatible with other brands as well.

They are. I use a Camelbak cleaning kit (big brush, tube brush, and occasionally special overpriced cleaning tablets) to clean my Source hydration bladder. I drink diluted Gatorade when I play, and all that sugar means scunge grows a lot faster. I carefully rinse it out the moment I get home and then give it soap and water when I have time. I use a tablet maybe once a year on the off chance there's something special about them.

Yeah.. it's just a long bendy wire with a small brush on it. There are disinfecting tablets for them too.

I always just use dish soap and scalding hot water once to fill and shake then squeeze out the tube then I will do it again and let it sit over night then empty it and rinse a couple times and it's usually good to go. I have filled mine with fifths of jack and come a few times. Smells for a couple days like Boze but no taste.

I have had hydro bladders go awful in smell and taste, and the Cambelbak cleaning packets have done the trick every time. Just make sure you use hot water and yer golden.
