Good morning everybody.
Airsoft has always been a big interest of mine, but I wasn't really aware that there was a big community for it in Michigan. Back in my high school days, I played some back yard / park games, and quickly hung up my gear as I found the local law enforcement frowned upon school yard games.
Now, as an adult, I have decided to get back in to the game the responsible way. I have a decent kit on order and I'm looking to get into some local games at No Limits. I'm looking to team up at some point, but I know I need some skill building first so I don't embarrass myself too bad.
A little bit about myself;
I am a school teacher at an alternative education high school, and also work at a cigar lounge in Dearborn. I have always been a gun guy, I do a lot of fine wood working and carpentry, and I do some photography on the side.
Right now I have a G&G Combat Machine m4 on order, red dot sight, 20,000 .25g bb's, 5 mid cap mags, some goggles, a matrix iron face mask, a vest, and some other goodies.
I'm looking forward to start playing.

Hey Scott welcome to MIA!
The way you described starting out playing airsoft is pretty much the same way many of the members of this community started out playing including myself back in my high school days. Fortunately most of us were wise enough to realize that it wasn't the smartest thing to do.
Do you work at Cigaro or Le Cigar over on Mich Ave in West Dearborn? I don't smoke cigars but I grew up in Dearborn for most of my life, graduated from UMD, and lived in West Dearborn and used to be neighbors with one of the co owners of Le Cigar I believe.
Looks like you're off to a great start so far with what you've selected. Next time you're at a No Limits game come up and introduce yourself to any of the Suicide Kings that are reffing including myself since we're hosting the games at No Limits and say hi!

Yes! Another well structured, coherent introduction from a new comer. I really have hope for this season. Welcome to the board, I will see you out at no limits. Will you be attending the game on the 23rd?
It also sounds like you have done your reading and have purchased all the right stuff too get started. If you haven't purchased a hydration carrier and bladder yet, make sure you bring plenty of water bottles with you to the field. This will likely be a hot summer, and getting dehydrated really sucks!

Welcome!
Sounds like you're off to a great start.
I'm sure since you're buddy's with Exo, I'll be seeing you quite a bit.
Looking forward to seeing you out on the field!

Gunny: I work at Don Yeyo (between The Post and Bailey's).
Tank: I have a camelback, but I do not have a molle rig hydration pack. Harry's Army was out of them, and I'm going to try to do with what I have for now and see how it works.
Pagan: Yes, I am friends with Exo. We have had our fair share of airsoft shenanigans together. I'll have to fill you in at the event on the 23rd.
Thank you for the warm welcome everybody.

As long as you have water with you, you will be fine. I'm sure it won't be quite as convenient, but it will work. This is the one that I own. www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=34750I let the bladder that it came with get moldy, so now I have a camelbak bladder inside it. I shop at Harry's as well, but find that I'm usually left buying most of my gear online. All of my cammo, and my Bates boots, have come from that store.
