First, that's Y&P, not HFC, and second that is just about the worst gbb he can buy. If he wants a cheap M9, he needs to get a KJW. I think www.airsoftatlanta.com sells one for 80. It's infinitely better than this peice of crap. A TM or KSC will also be fine, but more expensive. The KJW m9 will serve your friend well. For 80 bucks plus shipping, it's pretty much a steal.

That auction is a nbb and some Y&P break after a day. My brother has a KJW M9 and it works great

Another route your friend can take is the Tokyo Marui M92F Tactical Master. The gun is modeled after the Berretta Elite, however instead of having “ELITE Task Forces Model for special operations” printed on the slide tm did a fancy TM logo stamped into their slide. They also added a nice comfortable grip which doesn’t come on the Elite standard. This GBB in my opinion is the BEST skirmish semi auto GBB that can be purchased under $150 hand down. The performance is awesome, and anyone who has ever owned it will have nothing bad to state about it, or at least I’ve failed to hear any when regarding performance in a skirmish atmosphere. If you looking for a hand gun that will not fail to impress in the field and is cheap to buy this is it. If you looking for exact replicas that also fair fairly well in the field go buy a WA or KSC gun. www.uncompany.com has them for sale at $110.00. >>>> EDIT <<<<Another option would be the KSC Elite. The gun is great! While I do not think it performs quite as well as the Tac Master out of the box it is impressive nonetheless. It too sells for $110 from www.uncompany.com. Aside from the ugly KSC logo on the grip the only thing that keeps this from being an exact replica of the real M92 Elite is the screws that hold the grips on, the real version uses hex screws which can be purchased from any hardware store for ye super replica freekazoids. NOTE This gun has a major hop up flaw. The hop up unit itself is great, however when taking down the gun the little ball that controls the hop up units depth falls out and is almost unnoticeable to the naked eye when not looking for it. WTS Mike pointed this out to me, and because I have a million of these “little balls” I was able to fix the hop up unit without any problems nor spending any money. If anyone has this problem with their gun I will fix it for free or send you the necessary parts.

This gun has a major hop up flaw. The hop up unit itself is great, however when taking down the gun the little ball that controls the hop up units depth falls out Sorry, but that's bull:P. Unless you take the entire barrel/hop assembly apart, that ball isn't going to fall out. Just field stripping the gun isn't going to cause the ball to pop out. It's not a flaw by any means. Maybe your gun was missing some other crucial parts? I know my 3 KSC guns (all using a similar hop design) have never given me a problem with losing that part. A TM or KSC M9 would both be good choices for a skirmish gun. The TM M9 series has the advantage of a lot more parts and upgrades compared to the KSC M9s though. The KSC M9 (not the Elite) is much heavier than the TM, and uses a heavyweight plastic that looks better to me. It also has a functional decocker unlike the TM. The KSC M9 Elite has a known problem of the sights popping out after some use, but you can glue them in place to prevent this. The regular KSC M9 has molded in sights, so they won't pop off. Both guns have their plus and minus points, but a little research online for reviews will give you a good impression of both guns. I personally have a KSC M9 and love it.

Wooo there Minkster. As you know the Elite come with two barrels, one is the orange barrel and the other is the nice silver barrel. To get your inner barrel and hop up unit into the silver barrel you must fully take it down and get it out of that orange barrel, this si where the ball falls subject to getting lost, this is where I lost mine. Hado has reported the same exact problems with his hop up that I was having with mine, and then WTS pointed out the problem which fixed it 100%. Maybe I of went over board when saying “major hop up problem” but if you lose the ball the gun becomes 100% inefficient, which again is the would reason I sold my first elite, the same reason I was able to buy my second elite for 20 dollars and repair it. Ill better word my sentences and go into better detail next time.
EDIT
Another note that might be determining is the type of hop up units.
The TM Tac Master has a fixed hop up set for .25g bbs. Though I use to use .20g bbs on a regular basis and there was very little bb climb.
The KSC Elite has an adjustable hop up.

I agree that the hop-up might be a pain, and that part is easily lost. I objected to you calling it a major flaw though. The Marui AEG hop-ups work on a similar idea, a small object pushing the rubber hop membrane into the barrel, and the small rubber "donut" that does that job is often lost too. It's just the way they work, not a flaw. ;D Good point about the adjustable hop on the KSC guns though, it's a major selling point.
