I am considering getting a 33mm four reticle reflex sight for my M4, but since I use the M4 both indoors and outdoors, I was wondering how easy is it to see the brightness of the reticle in daylight?

Depends on what brand sight your looking at.

Most any optic will work in broad daylight and pitch black. You shouldn't have to worry about the brightness. If you sent us some links to specific gun sights you were looking at we could probably let you know for sure whether its going to work or not. Just about anything out there should work for you though.

I'm in the same boat. Was looking at this: AMP Tactical 4 Reticle ScopeThere's an equivalent NC Star version but most people say NC Star is kind of crap. Anyone know if this AMP is any good? ------ Edit: Talked to the Airsoft GI folks and they said for reflex style the NC Star is best pick as it's same quality as the others but gives a warranty that covers if it's shot out. Well he said "They would probably replace it if it's shot out"

First off, never trust anything a retailer tells you about returns, warranties, etc. This goes double for anything airsoft related and triple if you're talking to anyone employed by Evike.
Second, it is very, very unlikely that a manufacturer would replace a damaged sight. They would, rightly, point out that the damage was not some sort of manufacturing default, but rather a result of your use of the sight in a game for which the sight was not primarily intended.
The best sight I have used as far as brightness and ruggedness in the field is my G&P Aimpoint. Yeah, it's not as sexy as an Eotech, ACOG, Spectre, etc, but it was cheap and continues to work despite years of abuse and neglect.

I ended up getting the NC STAR Panorama Reflex Red/Green Dot (that's a mouthful) and if it sucks or breaks, oh well. It's like $60 and I'm probably going to spend more than that at the bar later. I will update the community here with what I think of it and how long it takes to break. I have nothing else to say If (or when) it does I probably will opt for an aimpoint style. (or maybe Eotech style) But I dug the Reflex style of this one and thought it would looks sweet.

Cheapest place I can find it is $60, which is a website I would personally not enter a credit card number into. Likewise Airsoft GI says they have lowest price. There's a Red (only) model which is cheaper out there, but this is the red/green model. So maybe you are thinking of that other one? Also I think this sight was released several years after the standard red only sight from NC Star, so I'm guessing you are talking price wise about the other product? Also not this is a panorama style, meaning it's wider, ala oval instead of a circle.
The only other readily available Reflex style sights are AIM and AMP, would one of those been better?
From youtubes, it seems to have good paralax and I could not find a bad review of it anywhere, except from real steel guns where I'm guessing all of these airsoft red dot sights will get thrown off from the amount of kick on a rifle as I see similar reviews on real steel folks trying the "low cost sights".
I mean I've not really gotten any constructive feed back on the topic. Everyone's response is "I run an aimpoint style and love it" which would be the answer to which style of sight do you like best? But that's not the question posted. (Note this is a common response to this question, I'm not trying to pick on Gimpalong and do appreciate the feedback)
I mean from what people have told me, I'm left going "I wish G&P made a reflex sight".
From my point of view, on the web, people love to complain and rant and I couldnt find anything like that about this product, only good things...
All and all, I'll let you guys know what I think after I run a few thousand BBs through it.

I did a bit of digging on NCStars website and there doesn't seem to be any mention of "panorama" anywhere, nor is there mention of a Red/Green dot feature on the optic. This leads me to believe that ASGI is using fancy words and things like that to upsell a product (duh, what company wouldn't). OR that you picked up an NCStar clone. ALSO, that the real NCSTAR sight is product name NCSTAR D4B and when I type that into google I get an average price of $38. $34 on Amazon, $44 on OpticsPlanet. $36 dollars on CheaperThanDirt. All of which are reputable online retailers. I don't mean to be mean, but I just think you overpaid for an optic, that's all. I used to have one of those way back when, it was a great sight albeit a bit dim. I have like 4 different reticle shapes to choose from, it was cool.

Weird... I mean I've seen youtube reviews where it shows the green working. And the DB4 has 7 brightness settings where the one I got has 4 for red and 4 for green. And I'm not taking it mean, and I am not really trying to defend the product , or be a jerkbutt about thing. All and all, I think it will work fine and look sweet and if there's another more or less same version that is $20 less, oh well. (It's only like 10-15 less on AirsoftGI, but I see that one other places). Either way, it's rushing across the country to me as we speak. I'll post what I find when I get it as I know everyone is dying to know how this turned out.
