Hello all new here. Been lurking here for awhile, want to get into airsoft soon as possible, Son has started a team recently. Ok back on subject of impressions.
PMC? I realize the current military thing (due to Iraq/Afgan) is tan and or desert camo. Go with whats going on right now right! And PMC is not supposed to wear camo I have heard. Here's my point, if we were in theory going into Korea or some where else (no desert) jungle/woodland camo would be the thing again. So would'nt one think PMC operators in those enviroments would be wearing camo. I just think the Desert camo or Tan khaki thing is way over done right now because of current world conditions. And I guess my other point is I was leaning towards a PMC loadout and if I was going into Jungle enviroment appropriate camo/bdu/etc etc would be what I would use. Here and other forums have blasted guys for doing so, Qoutes I have seen "Your loadout looks ok, but lose the woodland and go with desert khaki 5.11 tactical pants! Just saying, feedback welcome please!

Naturally in reality, a PMC is going to wear whichever camo or load out that's going to be the most appropriate for their given environment. The reason why the "Contractor" Load out for most M.I.A games is strictly limited to tan/khaki pants and a black top is so that it's distinguished enough from the other sides.
Because most MIA games are usually two sided games, green vs tan, if you had players with contractor load outs and were using any kind of camo pants then there would be identification issues because they would be wearing camo pants that would associate them with one of the other sides.
So it's mostly to prevent confusion on both sides. Especially if the contractors are playing on their own side or associated with another side.

Look up pictures of Triple Canopy or Executive Outcomes, they both do PMC/PSD work in Africa and South America, so therefore have green-based loadouts. I haven't seen any recent pics, so most of what you'll see is from a few years back all the way back to the 80's. If I recall correctly from some of the pics I did see, rigs like the HSGI Warlord or Wasatch seemed to be popular.

Don't forget the bald head and ridiculous goatee. Ah yes, of course. I'd nearly forgotten. Here's some pics of Executive Outcomes guys: Guy on the left is wearing a South African M83 vest, not sure about the other one. A lot of these guys will use AK's so 3 or 4 cell Chicom chest rigs are pretty common. Again, most of these pictures are from the late 80's or early 90's, so it's probably not very representative of what they might be using today. Executive Outcomes stopped operating in 1999 apparently. And most of the recent pictures of Triple Canopy, DynCorp, Blackwater/Xe are all going to be in either the Middle East or Afghanistan for the most part, so they're not terribly helpful for a greener loadout. But you could very easily take whatever they're using and just swap it for the same thing in OD or whatnot. Another thing to point out is that with the exception of US-originated groups, most of these guys are either going to be using Soviet weapons (AK's, RPK's, etc), or guns like the H&K G3, the FN FAL or the FN FNC. You're going to be less likely to see an M4/M16 style rifle, unless it's an American PMC.

Thanks, those are some cool pics. I personally just don't like the look of current PMC's, what they do is intriguing but the look my opinion says, just walked in with street clothes and some tactical gear. Thats cool if its what you like but not for me. I like camo but really dont want to say I am a Marine, Seal, etc etc. As I will also not wear patches that I have not earned, disrespectful but thats just my opinion, to each his own. I was leaning towards something with tiger stripe camo, really like the way that pattern looks, vietnam era stuff. Have a black tactical vest, black drop leg holster, and some black knee pads, not sure how that would look with tiger stripe.

Not sure who they are but as far as any real unit, they're not portraying anything.

There is a GIANT thread on Arnies about non-uniform kits. Some of it is facepalm, but some of it is pretty good.

Clampitt, time for you to step in and tell us how the contract operators looked in Afghanistan... Hope my opinion on this is just as good, considering we have 3 Dyncorp guys here that don't do a damn thing, as well as random "Psy-ops" guys. Make amazing money needless to say, and get away with whatever they want. Majority are blue jeans and a T-shirt, honestly it's like walking outside the house in normal attire, then putting a flak on. One guy we had when I first got in country had that new prototype wolf camouflage (AT I think?) and he looked retarded. A few british PMC's that are out here (Don't know company names) that help service some of the surveillance cameras we have hidden around rock modified MP5's that do a 5.56 round and wear MICH 2001's. Honestly it's whatever you can imagine would make sense. Me personally when going for a contractor role I'll rock either a plain white T-shirt or maybe just an old skivvie shirt that I've got that has something motivational that I've done (Like my old unit shirt, or whatever). Pants, I trust 511 for, overall they've got more pockets than I know what to do with, which is nice for storing that extra mag, or a benchmade knife or a Gerber. That's about my 2 cents.
