There has never been any concrete evidence linking KWA and KSC for certain, but there are plenty of long-standing rumors. The most accepted one seems to be that they are connected somehow, and that the KWA versions are more "import friendly" due to their lack of trades. The fact that most KWA parts are apparently interchangable with the KSC models, and that KWA guns usually come in the KSC boxes adds to this connection. Really though, it's kind of the unsolved mystery of airsoft. Certain retailers will tell you there's no difference at all between the KWA and KSC guns, and some even flat out list KWA guns as KSC on their sites. There have been allegations by some players though that the KWA models use cheaper plastics and are less reliable...there are also those who say there is no difference at all, and have been using KWA guns reliably. You'll have to try and find info about whatever particular gun you're interested in, and make up your own mind if you want to save some bucks with KWA, or go with proven KSC quality.

My personal favorite gas gun subject, the link between KSC and KWA. Too bad Minky got it first. Just one thing to add. Go to a large forum, www.airsoftplayers.com and www.airsoftzone.com will yeild the best results (particularly the latter). Search for problems people have had with the KWA M9, and search for problems people have had with the KSC M9. you'll see MANY more complaints about the KWA version. This again leads to the conclusion that they are not the same company. A while back, as i understand it, KSC put out an updated model of their M9, KWA didn't follow suit, and hance the problems with the KWA version.
