I was looking over different holo sights and had a few questions concerning them. Are certain holo sights stronger than others? How much would it take to shatter the lens of a holo sight?
If someone could answer these questions for me, that'd be great.
Thanks.

Obviously a real steel is more durable than a replica. In terms of lenses tho, I have seen many replicas with shot out lenses. I dont recall seeing any real steels ones being shot out.

It's really impossible to say. The replica companies generally don't make their own parts, they source them on the spot market in the China. You're at the mercy of nameless manufacturers with dubious QA processes. Even if someone else's Hurricane faux-EOTech took a direct hit from a 550fps sniper rifle and never showed a mark, the one you buy might have glass from a different OEM and shatter after much less abuse.
Edit: It might also be worth mentioning that the replicas aren't truly holo sights. They're ordinary reflex sights styled to look like holographic sights.

Okay, thanks for the info guys. Probably won't end up getting one because I don't want to drop a bundle of money on a sight and have it get shot out, despite the possible benefits from the the sight.

You could just get a lens protector or make one yourself.

Thanks everybody, you helped me a lot! I didn't know they made covers for EOTech replica sights because I've never seen one before, but now I do, ctres, thanks.

Just as a thought that you may want to consider, I just got a replica eotech 553, and as of now I really cannot reccomend it because of the extremely reflective glass that is the back lens. I am currently trying to find a replica that doesn't have this problem, but be warned, a lot of them seem to have it.

Get a G&P or the King Arms brand ones. I have one of each and the quality of them is great

Do yours have a problem with a reflective rear lens? Which models do you have? (551, 552, 553, etc.)

Question: Is this a good sight for the price? www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=28462First sight i will be buying so just looking for some input. I like the Holographic sight better than the regular red dot but the reviews said it was tinted and hard to see at night so if someone know of another sight similar that's not tinted that would be great if not, that one will do.

Honestly it's impossible to say. Between my team mates and I we have ordered at least 10 EOTech clones, and I don't think any of them are exactly alike. They all have different external materials, different quality of paint, different reticules, some very are reflective, some are tinted, some have trades, etc. I have three that were in G&P boxes and they are all different.
When it comes to EOTech clones it's a crap shoot. Unless you buy the Hurricane, but at that point a used real one is a better option.

Do sights and help out with accuracy as much as people say they do? When i say sights i mean optics, excluding iron sights.
Edit: Also will a sight such as the one i linked before make it better to actually see the sight. By that i mean like when you have a full face mask on and you can't use the iron sights because the mask prevents you from doing so. So basically my question is can you look down a holographic sight with a full face mask.
