I was looking around on AirsoftGI to upgrade my M4 when I came across this hop up bucking by G&G. www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_170&products_id=3715All of the reviews say it's great and all that, but part of one review says "Not recommended for 400+fps though". Can someone tell me as to why this bucking would not handle my M4 that shoots 420fps? Or is that review inaccurate? Thanks.

The theory is that soft buckings will wear out faster or tear when a bb is fired at high fps past it. To help prevent this companies make buckings that are made of harder rubber. The harder rubber won't tear as easily. The sealing lip of a hard type bucking is stronger than a soft type and will prevent the air leak between the nozzle and bucking associated with high fps.
The reality is that the hop up is a friction system. The harder the bucking, the less friction, the less it performs. I've used several hard type buckings and all of them have down right sucked. With a King Arms purple hard type I was getting almost half the range as with a standard soft at 550 fps.
The G&G bucking will be fine in your rifle. If I'm not mistaken the G&G M14 veteran shoots around 420 fps and has that bucking in it. If I were building a 420 fps rifle I would without question use a normal soft type.
