Looks like the Systema PTW will have some competition from KWA with their new RM4A1 Electronic Recoil Gun (ERG). Apparently when used with the KWA ERG magazines it has a last round trigger lock to simulate the bolt hold open on a real AR15/M16/M4 rifle. However, it can also use standard AEG mags, but their use will not allow the trigger to lock on the last round.
Of course, it also has the recoil mechanism in the stock. Has anyone heard anything about it's release date? I'm pretty excited for this and unfortunately I haven't been able to find out anything about price or availability.

Do you know what kind of gearbox design it has? Is it based around a V2, or perhaps the TM recoil engine in their SOPMOD? Or (and I really hope so) did they replicate the PTW gearbox?

From what I gather from videos on youtube they have some sort of system in the buffer tube (Kinetic Feeback System or KFS) that provides the recoil, I'm not sure how it works though. ASGI said on either a facebook post or tweet that they had a production sample in so it could be coming soon.

So you probably can't have it wired to a battery within the stock I'm sure. I wonder how difficult it will be to change out stocks if you want?

Is this just a new recoil design and a sensor to stop firing when empty? If so, it's not really PTW competition. TM SOPMOD competition perhaps, though it's not like that has sold well.

You're probably right knife more competition to the TM SOPMOD. Looks like it might have more felt recoil though than the TM SOPMOD.
EDIT: I've heard as well that the NiMH batteries in the TM SOPMOD drain very quickly in cold weather. Hopefully the KWA doesn't have similar problems and goes with a LiPo.
I'm not sure on any of the internals or specifics on it other than what I've seen on the internet. Be nice if it had a standard V2 gearbox for easier/affordable upgrades.
Hopefully, they do come out soon.

Search up on youtube there are tons of videos of it shooting and you can see that it's probably competition to the TM not the PTW.

Well, in that case I hope it blows the TM SOPMOD out of the water. A 290 FPS NiMh airsoft rifle that cost over $600 is not worth a hill of beans to me even if it does have a cut off and recoil system.
Like to see it shoot 350-400 fps out of the box with a LiPo and easily upgraded. Deliver that for around closer to $500 and I'm a happy camper. ;D
I'd just call it a day and get a GBBR, but living in Michigan I want something to handle the cold better. PTW and CTW I just think are too fragile for as much money as they charge for them. Shouldn't have to weather proof a thousand something dollar airsoft rifle.

Has anyone seen the Airsoft Systems Smart Control Unit (V2) unit? Apparently, once installed in any normal AEG it will provide the trigger lock-up after the last bb is fired. Red Wolf Airsoft has them.
