Im looking to build this weapon but not rush out of the house and do it now interested. I would like to build a 9mm AR, but not really sure how to do it. I know of the inserts you can use. I believe king arms makes one. Also, what mags would I use? Below are some pictures I pulled up. Thefirst is the exact build I want, minus the stubby grip. The second is just a version I love. If second doesnt work, here. imageshack.us/photo/my-images/837/dscn0963.png/sr=1Thanks, any advice is appreciated. Also, This may be a tech question. Not really sure.

Thanks a lot for the links man. Any ideas as for a base gun to work with? I like the idea of a VFC but I'm not sure if the Insert is even compatible. Also, any ideas on what the foregrip Hand guard is? I've been trying to find this exact one with no luck.

The foregrip in the first picture looks like one of these or one of these. I also don't know if there's a difference between those two other than brand and name. In the picture in the link, he's got a stubby VFG, as seen here combined with an AFG, as seen here.If it were me, I'd go with a G&P over a VFC. G&Ps are some of the best looking AEGs out there, and a bit more reliable. VFCs can come with some major internal problems. I don't know if the insert is compatible with either for sure, but I haven't heard about G&Ps being picky about mags so that makes me think that the G&P would be a safe bet for it. Hell, G&P might even make a 9mm conversion kit. Check out the Hong Kong shops like www.uncompany.com, www.ehobbyasia.com and www.redwolfairsoft.com. If G&P makes one, they'll carry it.

Thanks for the links and the advice Knief. My only problem is I just looked back and saw that I said fore grip instead of hand guard. Sorry! Do you know what that one is in the first pic? And what type of G&P should I go with. Because I want a rail system basically just like the firs pic. That gun is perfect in my mind.

That's a taller order. It will be similar to this, though the rail you're looking for has a solid piece that runs down the length of the receiver as well. This one just butts up to the receiver to continue the rail on the top of the gun. Let's keep looking... Then there's this one that will again give you a similar look. But it doesn't look like the top rail continues along the top of the receiver. Those appear to be your best options as listed in WGC, but check those retailers I mentioned above. They might carry something different. As for the base gun, any short barreled AR variant. Since you like the CTR stock, I'd find one with that stock included. Something like this: shop.ehobbyasia.com/aeg/g-p-hong-kong/magpul-licensed-gandp-m4-cqb-ctr-aeg-black.htmlOr if you'd rather have colt trademarks and get the stock aftermarket, try to find this in stock somewhere: shop.ehobbyasia.com/aeg/g-p-hong-kong/gandp-mk18-mod-o-aeg.html

Thanks a lot knief. I have been trying to find a guard similar to that one for a while. Guess I just wasn't looking in the right places! I truly can't thank you guys enough. Once again, mia pulls through with a win.

The front and rear sights in the first photo are typical of what comes with an SL8.

Classic Army also makes a magwell conversion kit (P259P), but the one at Airsoft Atlanta is only $3.99 right now. If you can't find TM UZI mags, you can buy 100 round UZI midcaps (P258P) from any CA dealer. CA calls them M16 SMG magazines.

And the help keeps coming! I think I may go with the g&p rifle because it looks like that there is no insert. I figured this would make a better quality gun. The only down side to this is wont I have to buy a new lower if I want to fit regular mags?
Also, The sights I believe are the only thing I don't want because they do look like they belong to an sl8 and not an ar.
Oh, and thanks for the link to the rail system.
