Most M4s have a removable carry handle, as do many M16s. They're pictured with the carry handle attached because it comes with the gun, but they're removable. What you're looking for to determine if the carry handle is removable is a couple of large screws on the left side of the gun where the carry handle meets the upper receiver: This carry handle, on the other hand, is not removable: Depending on the retailer, some will be pictured with optics or some sort of rear sight affixed to the rail rather than a carry handle. These ARs still have a rail along the top rather than a fixed carry handle. For instance: If you're looking for an M4 under $200, you have no better option than a G&G. Their affordable series is really the best budget AEG on the market of any variety. AirsoftGI has a great selection of them: www.airsoftgi.com/index.php?cPath=139_24_237

ARGH! That's going to offset my budget. If I get this w/ battery and charger separate, I wont have enough money for a decent vest and mags. It would leave me having to choose one or the other, not a good situation to be in. I'll have to find something else then.

Dboys is a mediocre clone company. It probably won't be as reliable as the G&G, and you're always taking a chance buying something used. On top of that, the seller is asking $200 for it. www.airsoftgi.com has the exact same gun for $160. He's including mags, but midcaps are pretty cheap and you don't want hicaps. Plus, his battery solution is to strap it to the side of the gun. You can do much better. You might as well buy the gun new if you were going to get it. Still, for the money, you won't get anything that performs as well and is as reliable as the G&G M4s linked above. If you're dead set on a SCAR, then the Dboys is probably your best budget option. If you're not dead set on it, get the G&G. [edit] Also, please stop double posting. It's against the rules. Sorry about the double posting, I'll be sure to remember that. The one problem with the M16 that you showed was that ironsights aren't an option. Should I pay the extra $50 for the red dot sight? I'm kind of iffy when it comes to red dots, excluding EOTech and the bulkier types. I was thinking, after I buy the gun and make some more money, should I get a P90 as a secondary to substitute a pistol? I think that would be pretty cool.

Everything Javelin said is correct. Those guns all come with some sort of iron sight option. Carrying around an extra AEG is way more trouble than it's worth, especially something as blocky as a P90. Plus, try storing extra mags for it. That's a pain in the ass for guys who run the P90 as their primary weapon. A decent pistol is all you need. If you really feel like you have to have full auto in your sidearm (you don't), you can get something like a Glock 18c or an M93r. There are other sidearm options out there that are much better than a P90.

You don't want the battery or charger that it comes with. Those package deals are rarely worth the extra money. They give you the cheapest shit they can to give you the "best savings" on the package. In reality, you're going to need to buy a new battery and charger anyway, so why spend an extra $30 or whatever up front for shit and another $50 later for the good stuff when you could just spend the $50 now and get the good stuff.

You mentioned that with those gun models iron sights are not an option, but all of those models come with some sort of rear sight (carry handle, flip-up, etc.) and a fixed front sight, so not to worry. I guess I'll just get the cheapest optics that come with it then, or none at all if that's possible. I most likely won't ever have a pistol anyways. You don't want the battery or charger that it comes with. Those package deals are rarely worth the extra money. I realize this about the batteries that come with the guns. I already intend to get a separate battery anyways.

But, this will give him a nice starter gun that he can use, untill he buys a better battery and charger.
