Been searching online and could not find any threads with actual answers.
I am tweaking a 1911 for a friend and have come across a hop up issue. The problem is the hop up readjusts itself, turning the hop up "clockwise", resulting in down hop. I cannot seem to figure out a way to stop this. It is a hop up wheel, but there is no screw so I cannot apply any loctite or anything.
Any ideas fellas?

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but have you tried turning the wheel counter clockwise? Not all hop ups are the same, and clockwise isn't always "up."
Also, what brand 1911 is it?

Haha, sorry for not explaining this thoroughly enough. I can adjust the hop up to the point where the bbs shoot up (too much hop) but after three or four shots, the bbs starting going back down again. When I take apart the upper slide, I can see that the wheel has turned. (had it all the way up for most hop, but now I can take my finger and adjust the wheel--means wheel turned). The brand is WE, and is a friends. At first I was just fixing his mag/cleaning his gun, but now I noticed this problem and thought I would take a stab at fixing it.

That is a typical problem with WE 1911's.
To fix it remove the two screws from the side of the hop up chamber. Then open the chamber up. Remove the metal hop up arm and the plastic adjustment wheel. Put something under the adjustment wheel like tape, or preferably, a thin shim.
Before you put it back together, bend the part of the adjustment arm that goes into the adjustment wheel upwards a bit. This will give you more available hop if you need it.

Sorry for the double post mods, but thought a afternoon update would be okay, my apologies if it is not.
I was able to strip the hop up down completely and wanted to see how everything worked before "modding" it. I put it back together and made sure everything was aligned correctly, screws were tight, etc. etc. I noticed that when adjusting the hop up wheel, that it was much harder to do, and actually took some force. Took some test shots and the hop up seemed to stay adjusted and did not rotate itself.
Problem seemed to be fixed simply by re-installing the hop up. If the problem comes up again, then a mod might be necessary, but for now it is all good.
Now just to fix the terrible accuracy and mag in-efficiency problem.... ;D
