Hey guys, I recently acquired the new licensed H&K G36C from ARES. Long story short I found out after I took the cheap orange plastic flash hider off that it has clockwise threads. Since I hate having a plastic flash hider, I searched the web top to bottom for a clockwise g36c flash hider, but apparently none exist (other than ARES, but only some people have received one in the box). I even called AirsoftGI but in so many words they basically told me I was out of luck. I know there are cw to ccw adapters like this one, but it would cause the flash hider to stick out more and just wouldn't look right... I've emailed ARES about buying one directly from them but in the event that I can't I would like a few opinions on what to do. I know I can buy a clockwise silencer and I probably will I just need to have a g36c flash hider to go along with it. I'm picky like that. I was thinking about CNCing one out of an aluminum block based on another brand's flash hider just switching the threads in the computer drawing. I don't know, what do you guys think?

Seems like CNC'ing one flash hider would be a huge pain in the ass. This is one of the adapters you would need: www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=27508It's not terribly big, so the difference in length would be negligible. So I would say buy that, and the appropriate flash hider and call it a day.

I believe that's a negative to positive and I would need a positive to negative adapter. Evike dropped the ball on the description there. They said negative to positive twice and positive to negative once in the description. And since a review stated that it worked on a jg g36c I'm going to take a guess that it in fact is a negative to positive and that this is the correct one I would need. Since the flash hider is partially inside the receiver I would think that even the slightest movement would be noticeable and disrupt the look. Either way I guess I'll give it a shot.

If you have access to a machine shop (which it sounds like you might) you could bore out the counter clockwise flash hider threads, cut new ones and insert a slug that threads in between the flash hider and outer barrel. In other words the slug would thread on the clockwise barrel threads, then the flash hider would thread onto the slugs threads.
Or you could just bore out the flash hider and hammer the slug into it. Might not sit flat though.
