I thought a shotgun would be a nice addition to my collection of airsoft guns. Has anyone had any experience with the Marushin 8mm shotguns? This is not my first gun or anything, more of something to take out everyone once in a while.

They're kind of cool, but if they break it's about impossible to get replacement parts. The cocking arms on them are made of pot metal and are therefore kind of brittle. Once you break those, you've got yourself a handsome shotgun paperweight.
8mm is cool, but it's not very practical to use, and there are a few places that won't even let you.

Well, I stand corrected then. Good deal.

Yeah they said on the video on GI that they do break if your not careful. I usually rotate between having games at my field (so I would allow it), and going to FAH, so I could use it at least %50 of the time. Is their anything you would recommend like another shotgun? I'm not set on this, so if anyone has a suggestion.

I have heard good things about the Tokyo Marui Spas-12 shotguns. Also, I have heard a little bit about the Echo 1 M1014's, and what I heard is that they were quite good.
If I remember correctly there is a thread on Arnies about the TM SPAS-12's.

Find yourself either a TM or UTG M3 shotgun, or the TSD M1014 if you want something more modern looking. They are both tri-shot shotguns.
Last I checked all the shotguns from Echo 1 were single barrel, effectively making them low FPS pump action sniper rifles. Although, I have already been wrong once in this thread, so maybe they've changed their design.

I recall the echo one shotguns being too hot for cqb(400+fps). They were pretty much a little sniper rifle shotgun.

Those cocking arms seem very simple to manufacture. I wouldn't be opposed to making some for people who have broken theres. I am a Very skilled machinist, and it wouldn't take but a little time for the notches and holes I can see from the pics. So if anyone is interested, hit me up. I would need the broken parts to build from, and some time.
