hey all i was wondering how good the gas TMPs are..i REALLY want one. i was also wondering if it's possible to unload the entire magazine of these without losing the gas first. i've had problem with my Tac Master losing it's gas before i unload the mag (only when i fire as fast as i can tho) so if anyone has used one, let me know of what you think of it.

The reason for your tac master running out of gas to soon is most likely do to the temperature you where operating it in. Cold + Gas = Shite. When it warms up you will notice a considerable rise in both power and magazine gas supply. Or, you may not be filling your mags completely. With my tac master on a warm day and warm mags I will get about 1 mag and almost an entire second mag out of the gas supply.

I'm pretty sure one of the LKA guys has an SPP, which is a TMP without the front vertical grip. I think it was Duncan who has one? Not sure but hopefully he'll see this thread and report in. I haven't read too much about the TMP since it never really interested me, but it seems like it would be a pretty good backup gun or primary for CQB, as long as you have some extra clips. What Viking said about temperature and gas guns is right....they don't like anything much below about 50 degrees Most likely what happened with your tacmaster is that rapid firing caused the temperature in the mag to drop, which in combination with the already cool external temp made the seals in the gun contract, releasing more gas than they should.

Yes, Duncan is the one with the SPP. Although he is the one that owns it I think I can add a little info before he gets here.
The SPP/TMP can use Green Gas out-of-box which means you don't really need any valve mods or anything silly like that. It's powerful (the only time Luke has ever complained about a hit was from an earshot a newbie got on him with D's SPP).
Beware: its a summer gun. I think Duncan got his SPP during the winter and it was a real bitch for him. It is really tempermental (Duncan add advice here). Buy extra mags, its ROF is high. Don't bring it to the Upper peninsula either. Duncan made that mistake and broke the back of his gun (see his remarks on the OP: UE thread).

I love the gun, but as Ted said it is tempermental. I played with one of the gas up valves on the 30 round clip and now it leaks, my fault though. The only real problems that come with the gun is one that is like every other gas gun, where it doesn't like to shoot in cold weather. The other is that the plastic body that it comes with, even though it may be realistic, I somehow stressed the back piece where a piece of the plastic top broke off. Now, this can be fixed with appoxy, but I lost the original piece somewhere in a river up in the UP, . Now for the plus side!!!-The gun has an awesome rate of fire, takes like two seconds to unload the 50 round clip I have on full auto. -It also shoots extremely fast, the hopup is a bit strong when engaged so mine is adjusted way out right now, but except for that, I can shoot probably as far or further than a stock AEG cause of its power. -It has great kickback, feels harder than maybe a .22 going off in your hand, and mind you, mine is not even a hardkick version like they make nowadays. -The accuracy isn't great, but you can make a nice stream of bbs in full auto. It's barrel is not very long, and mine doesn't even have the front handle, so it wobbles, and doesn't hit its target at long ranges. (Also, mind you, that this is more of a kickass CQB weapon and not a rifle, but I still find that it can compete well even outside with other AEGs) -Last, reliability is awesome, once you have broken in your clip, it shoots every shot, never jams. My 50 round clip took a few games to be broken in cause I guess the shooting valve is a bit sticky or tough at first, and it needs to be used to loosen it. I would recommend, if you get the TMP, to get an extra 50 round clip, they run out fast. With any of the clips full on gas, they also shoot about a clip and a half of bbs, so when you're running out of bbs in a clip, shooting does not decrease one bit. And in addition, I don't think that the upgraded valve for the clip is needed, cause it already shoots fast enough, and you don't want to use up more gas than it already does. I may have written a bit much, but I hope it helps, feel free to ask any questions.

A bit of advice: there are these small velcro electric hand warmer things you can get that will fit on the mag. A nice advantage of having a mag that sticks out like that, supposedly with one of those you can use the gun reliably out to like 40 or 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
Edit: There's also a mod to convert the mag from 40 round capacity to 50. Look for it on ASZ forums.
