Ok, i have here a bottle of gas. The label is a little misleading and i need help deciding if this is green gas or 134a. It says "134A power airgun GAS". But just below that it says "Power Level:Green (out put measured at 8 KGS +/- 0.5 KGS)". I bought it from airsofttoys, they sold it as 134A. I recently bought another bottle of 134A from them and it was a different bottle. The first stuff i bought was made by HCI, or Taiwan. The stuff i have now is made by Marui. There seems to be a drop in the slide cycle rate and a little bit in FPS. The question being, is 8 KGS +/- 0.5 KGS the power level of green gas or 134A (the Marui bottle doesn't give a pressure amount, or if it does, it's in japanese.)? Another thing to add, Newman has a bottle of gas made by HCI tht is labled as green gas and a power level of green, as opposed to mine labled 134A with a power level of green. The power out put on his bottle was measured in psi, not KGS. Any ideas? I'm baffled by all of the contradicting evidence.

If the gas you have now is made by Marui, then it's probably true HFC134a. They don't sell aything more powerful than that as far as I know. The reason they all say green gas, is becuase that's a term meaning it's a more environmentally friendly gas...green as in good for the planet I guess I seem to remember reading a few posts at AirsoftZone dealing with the pressures of various airsoft gasses, so maybe you can find that info over there.

I know that the can i have now is 134a, i'm talking about the other can made in Taiwan by HCI that's labled 134a with a power level of green. My gas doesn't have the same smell that Newman's does. His smells like composte, but mine has more of a chemical smell.

I'm sorry omega, but you're mistaken.
green gas and HFC134a are NOT the same gas nor do they have equivilent power out put. Green gas, top gas and HCFC22 have similar power out put. True HCFC22 is ver difficult to obtain in the u.s. because it is on the slow ban list due to being harmfull to the environment.
Omega, please give this a read through;http://www.airsoftplayers.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=177 it's pretty much everything you ever wanted to know about airsoft gasses and more. Th author knows pretty much...well...everything about gas guns, although he won't admit it. And in the future, please don't post information unless you are 100% certain that it's correct.
