The WE PDW has peaked my interest lately as a CQC primary, mostly due to it's external design. One thing that that irked me was that the gun shoots to hot on green for use indoors. My experience with gas systems is limited to pistols and I only just started mixing my own propane, so my question is can lower pressure gas like 134a duster properly cycle the bolt in a rifle and spit out the plastic at reduced velocities? Or will it not fully cycle and foul up the internals?

It won't hurt the internals, but it might not have enough pressure to cycle the bolt back and forth. Only way to know for sure is to try it. My guess though, is that it won't be powerful enough. And if green gas/propane is too powerful, you're probably stuck unless someone make an NPAS for the WE PDW's.

That is what I was thinking based on experiences with Japanese pistols with duster gas. I'll give it the ol' try at some point and report my findings.

Best thing is to pick up an NPAS type kit for it. Then you can just adjust the velocities to meet the field requirements. I have a WE-M4 known to shoot extremely hot stock, tuned down to 380fps at the moment. This also allows me to get more shots per mag on the green gas then I normally could. Here's the link to RA-TECH's NPAS kit for the PDW www.ratech.com.tw/store/product.php?id_product=287I bought my M4 from them, so I'd say they are legit if you are worried.
