I got my 40mm grenade shells, and the M203 launcher I ordered is on its way, all that's left to do is get the gas. As suggested to me, I'm going to go with propane, so I need an adaptor. Any tips on what to look for in an adaptor? Should I be focusing on price or quality? I've found this one: www.airsplat.com/Items/GG-AI-PROP-ADAP.htmAnd this one: www.airsplat.com/Items/GG-TAG-ADAP-SIL.htmP.S. In the first link, I couldn't help but notice that the silicone bottle in the picture reads nice and big, "NOT FOR GRENADE USE." Is that going to be an issue for me...? One other quick question: What would be the optimal temperature range for using propane / green gas (considering the temp of an average summer day here in MI)?

Get the Airsoft Innovations adapter. It comes with silicone and a duster adapter, and works great.
As for the label on the silicone, it pertains to the AI Tornado Grenade, which comes with its own special lubricant that comes in a similar bottle with a green label that says "FOR GRENADE USE ONLY" or something like that. The silicone included with the adapter is fine for a 40mm grenade.
Propane will work fine pretty much any day in the summer. You may lose a little range on your grenades when the temperature drops below say 50 degrees or so, but you should be fine using it during summer.

I have a madbull adapter, and it works like a charm for nades. I think they go for around $30? Try that, it's metal and will stand up to a lot of abuse.

Ok, cool. And those temperatures should be almost perfect for me, because anything below 50 and I ain't staying outside for long anyway. I have nothing else to say

I keep hearing metal adapters get brittle and break after some use (propane moving is cold). I have a Saipen plastic adapter that works well. Also, metal adapters can't bend, so the nozzle can snap off where a plastic nozzle would simply bend, which can be attributed to the cooling and heating or just blunt force (such as rolling around a gun bag).
I'd suggest a plastic adapter, but the most important part is the lubricant port. Most newer adapters have an area to put lube in directly, which then evenly mixes with the propane and is identical to green gas.

I've never heard of a metal one breaking, but I've had a plastic one of my own break. However, I still prefer the plastic ones because some of the metal ones don't fit some magazines (for example, on 1911 MEU GBBs the fill port is recessed into the bumper on the magazine, so you need an extension that the AI plastic adapter comes with but the metal ones don't).
Also, I have yet to hear anything good about the silicon ports. From what I've heard, they tend to put too much silicon in. I'd prefer to just do it myself...

Ive used bot plastic and metal, Ive seen both metal and plastic broken.
Metal: Rarely Breaks and if bent can be fixed with pliers. Bends Easily.
Plastic: Breaks more easily fits more guns easier to use cheaper

I've had a plastic one for a number of years now, from Airsoft Innovations. Never broke, didn't deform, has fit every valve I've put it in, so I couldn't be happier.

I've used both. Metal has tendencies to stick and keep spraying propane after filling. I have a plastic one from AI and it has taken quite a beating and works great. It was favored by the Hellfish at their Farmington game a couple months back.

I've had an AI one and it was amazing until my friend knocked it over and the propane and the adapter did a nose dive and the nozzle part snapped off. I also had the madbull one's and they would stick down and spray out propane and it bent and didnt work anymore.

I've had both the MadBull V.2 adaptor and the Sapien Arms propane adaptors. Both of them work great. The MadBull adaptors have a problem with spitting out gas, but it is easily fixed by loosening the bolt inside the female end of the adaptor a little bit. Other than that it has worked great. Oh no I used a picture from evike.com I hope I didn't Violate any copyright law. The SA propane adaptor works good too and also has a silicon port but silicon oil can leak out of the adaptor so only put in enough for what you need to use and never try to store it with oil still in the adaptor. It even comes with a small bottle of silicon oil. The madbull adaptor is really rugged and will probably last longer but the plastic adaptors are much easier to use. I personally wanted to get the AI adaptor but it was sold out. IMO the AI adaptor would be the best value because of the bottle of silicon oil it comes with.
