well, guys...guess Ballista talked me into it.
Description:
without the magazine, the G26 is as long (the slide length) as a dollar bill. it's height is about 2/3's of that same bill.
the weight of the gun itself is fairly light... just the pistol weighs in at around the same weight as my Nokia cell phone.
The G19 mags with extensions that i have are about as heavy as the gun itself. As i stated before, i can coax about 3 clips out of each full gas charge on semi, and about 2 clips on full auto.
the weight distribution is excellent...the mass of the gun is pulled into your palm by the weight of the magazine...allowing your hand to grasp the gun easily.
the 26C sports a ported barrel and slide...disassembly is exactly the same as the G18...leading me to believe that that is all the 26C is...a scaled down 18.
Trades are non-existant...just a sylized 'G' instead of the Glock logo.. 9x19mm is on the chamber. 'G26 Mil-Spec 9x19 is on the left side of the slide. the right side of the slide sports a DEA serial number. 'DEA147'.
Shooting the G26C:
The G26C is fast, accurate, and a bitch to be shot with... (i'm guessing around 300-320 with green gas...as it hurt more than my AK at the same range.)
Typically, i can hit a 1.5 foot wide beach ball in my pool from about 60 feet with every BB.
on full auto, i can hit the same beach ball at around 40 feet with every BB.
the BB's are in a tight grouping.. at about 60 feet, i've hit the KSC target with every BB from a mag on semi... and about 2/3rds the mag hit the target on full auto.
mags empty very quickly... about a second and a half per 20 round mag.
the blowback is crisp and heavy...kicking the pistol around in your hands with every shot. In a Recoil comparison versus the tac master, the G26 carries about 30% more recoil. the gun reaaaaallly bucks around in your hands if you don't have a firm grip.
i'd say that it gained 1-2 rounds per second over the G18 due to the lighter and less massive slide.
it's not as accurate as my tac master...but i attribute that to the shorter barrel. at around 100 feet (as far as i can get from the target in my yard) i can hit the target with around 18 shots out of 20 with the tac...and 14 with the G26. The tac's barrel is about 1.5 inches longer than the 26's.
when they say that this gun is a 'pocket rocket'...that's no joke. the 26 fits quite nicely in my pocket...and i can see why it's a prefered CCW weapon for those with real steel versions.
so far as the G19 mags with extensions...they're a bit cumbersome. i need to remove the extension to load BB's into the magazine. they slide on and off...but i can forsee loosing one in the field to a reload under fire.
overall... i see it about as useful as my tac. the tacs long range ability evens out against the full auto of the 26. i can just see myself sticking the 26 around the corner into Viking's chest... ;D
anywho...i'm throughly pleased...and with the drop-leg tactical mag holsters coming from Mike... should be quite interesting in the coming gas games....
i'll havto compare it to my next purchase... which is designed to fill the same space as the G26C. first who guesses it gets a cookiee.
i'll see if i can get over to Slick's house after work and grab some pics of the bastage.
