the M9 and 92FS are different delineations for what is *essentially* the same firearm in the sense of US-Mil designation and Beretta's private designation for the civilian model (the F, FS, and other such notations denote specific feature differences between the 92 models), with specific features and demands, as well as subtle cosmetic differences, for each.
For AIRSOFT purposes, the only time that this actually has an impact is when it applies to the Sheriff Co., Japan, custom-house, custom-made aftermarket metal slide and frames for the Western Arms Beretta M92FS Perfect Version as well as when speaking directly of the various Beretta 92 variants that Western Arms markets themselves.
All other makers, as they lack the true Beretta trademark licensing power (with exception of KWC domestic market clones, but that's a totally different story), are currently billed under the M9 subtype -- with various KWA and KWC products billed under the M92FS subtype, but no discernable pattern of trademarks nor features can be used to truly separate these two items as such.
Each *_SPECIFIC_* BRAND/MAKE has their OWN delineation of what makes a model, for example, a M9 vs. a Tactical Master or a M9 versus an Elite, so on and so on.

near as i can tell, the main difference (besides trademarks and a Gov. contract) is the length of the barrel...the FS barrel seems to be even with the front of the slide for the most part...whereas the M9 extends a slight bit longer.

YEa they are the same gun just that the m9 is what the goverment calls it that, Bretta calls it a 92f or 92fs, but 92f is the most common. in the real gun world the m9 has a bigger magazine but due to laws the 92f has to have a smaller mag.

the 92FS has a 15 round max capacity...they just can't sell them new with that size magazine...you can still pick up 15 rounder pre-ban mags for it, though...
