My secret orange removing liquid is Isopropyl Alcohol. The stuff is safe on plastic and metal. Every gun I have used it on has come out with perfect results. However, I extremely suggest using no more then a 91% Isopropyl to 9% water ratio by volume, anything higher will begin to eat plastic. While it won’t have long-term effects even at 91/9 it begins to ware on plastic if you use it too much.

I use "Outers, Super Solvent Bore Cleaner, it is a copper and lead fouling solvent for use in real gun barrels, it is made to be used with a plastic brush (I have forgotten and used my copper brush a few times and woops! brush is smoking!) anyway it is a real good solvent and it does nothing to plastic! You put a little on a rag and Voila! it comes right off. Check it out here!
