If one had a poor grip on his gun, it's quite possible to grab on top of the mag release, thereby depressing it while drawing. The MagGuard would keep the mag from falling out, but you would likely still have a FTF on the next round. It's also likely that if there were a struggle that the mag release could be depressed, which if it's your gun may be a bad thing should you maintain control of it. I have to at least give props for innovative thinking.

Thanks Thor, I couldn't have explained it any better. It's also likely that if there were a struggle that the mag release could be depressed, which if it's your gun may be a bad thing should you maintain control of it. I have to at least give props for innovative thinking. Did you mean? May Not be a bad thing, should you maintain control. Thanks again for the props.

Thought I might share some reviews from some other forums. Quick, unofficial review. The Mag Guard is nice. A little pricy at $15.99 but very reasonable at the introductory price of $9.99. The Mag Guard is robust. The black elastic sleeve, velcro strap and stiching all appear to be of very high quality and they easily stood up to two full days of play. The elastic sleeve fits tight (and I do mean tight, it looks custom made for each gun that you put the Mag Guard on) to the weapon and the velcro strap not only holds the mag in place but it also covers the fill nozzel on the bottom of most mags keeping out the dirt that tends to accumulate in there. The one complaint I do have about the Mag Guard is that it does change the feel of the grips. Its a thick piece of elastic that runs around the whole gun, its going to have an effect. In my opinion it makes it harder to keep a firm grip on the weapon and without a pair of gloves you might find yourself fumbling your sidearm from time to time.Another problem that a fellow player noticed was that the Mag Guard would not be the best choice for a gun like the CM030 with the thin mags because the velcro strap is too far back.Overall its a very nice upgrade and I am systematically recommending them to everyone I meet that is packing a pistol. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quick unofficial review #2 - $15.99 (9.99 + shipping) may seem a little expensive for this piece, but you're paying for ingenuity, quality build, and a niche item. What do you expect? Before receiving the Mag Guard, I had only a few worries. The first was the elastic would not be tight enough around the grip, resulting in the mag just pulling the Mag Guard off when it fell. I was wrong on the count. The elastic is tight enough that it took me nearly 10 minutes to slide over the larger frame of my USP .45. Another worry I had, was whether it really is very easy to replace the mag. It is easy. It takes one extra motion of unstrapping the Velcro and it make a little practice to get used to the velcro straps hanging there, but other than, it's simple. The only negative I can give this Mag Guard is to contradict their statement that it won't effect the grip of the handgun. For handguns with straight grips, like the USP or 1911, the Mag Guard will fit just fine. For contoured grips, like the Glock or P99, the Mag Guard is decidedly uncomfortable. This is an especially big deal, since the Glock magazine catch is especially temperamental in certain holsters. I hate voicing a complain without suggesting a solution, but up to this point, the Mag Guard works great and I really can't see any way to change or improve it.Snake gives the Mag Guard an 8/10 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One little follow up. The guys who sell these things seem like a set of stand up guys. They heard that a couple of customers were accidentally overcharged for shipping due to a mix up at their post office and they called a number of people who recently purchased a MagGuard to refund the additional charges. I thought that was very cool of them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes they have great customer service! I asked them why I was charged when the mail man delivered my and they immediately took action and resolved the issue. Apparently the USPS packages with delivery conformation must be 3/4 in thick or they charge the person who you send the item to. he emailed me a copy of the letter that his post master gave to him. But yea Really great people! A++++++++++++++++ service. They also refunded me the post offices mistake! evike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3861&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=15---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just got one of these for my mk23 i hate the mag release on that and its kept in a safariland holster. This cost me $9.99 and a new mag costs me $50 so i figured hell why not we pay for lanyards for pistols in case we lose them why not the magguard, my life isnt dependent on how quick i can reload my pistol and granted im no fast reloader but thats down to me not the magguard. I have found it well worth the money for the peace of mind it offers me. www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?s=8ed91605aaf81a4a7500f95bef2feaa1&showtopic=149319&st=40U.K.
