It looks like a good idea, if you have one mag. I remember wrapping hockey tape around the bottom of my old M9 so I would loose my mag many a year ago. Good luck Chase.

If I were ever to knock a mag loose while in the holster, that holster would be in the crap-bin faster than you can say "Condor". <--- talking realsteel, of course.
I hope you find a market with airsoft players, but anyone that is getting one of these for a real-life application is spending money in the wrong place.

I thought that sounded like chaseman....
Great idea! I give you a +1 for coming up with an idea, creating a product, and marketing it. Very cool indeed. Sometime when we are playing out of state, and a guy walks up and says... "Yeah, these new MagGuard are great." We will be able to say... "Yeah... I know the guy that invented them." Another thing Michiganders can be proud of.
On a side note. You may sell some of them for real pistols, but you shouldn't have much of a market there. Anyone that carries a gun should know better than to have ANYTHING obstructing your mag change, no matter how insignificant it may seem. They should either get a better firearm, if the mag keeps falling out, or their holster has some defective design flaw and they should trash that thing faster than Detroit citizens trash their town after the Pistons or RedWings win their respective championships.
However, a great idea and product for the airsoft community. As a second added to your reload time isn't that big of a deal. Not compared to a $40 magazine replacement. The same can't be said about a real gunfight however.

Thanks Nexus, For the +1 and your cool comments. I really appreciate what you said and hope things take off. Real Steel if it can help, but the design was born in Airsoft and I hope MagGuard saves the community some money. We lose enough stuff in the field anyway. Coming home with your gun in tach Much Better

Chase, might I suggest one small revision for your next run of MagGaurds. First off, I assume that the seem goes to the front because having it to the back is uncomfortable. Keeping that in mind and also assuming that the shooter is right handed. I think you should reverse the pieces of Velcro so that instead of pulling toward your body, away from the gun, then putting your hand under it to catch the mag, you would pull away from your body which places your hand under the gun already. Still, I think its a great idea and product.

Hate Great minds think alike. We have made the change already from the test prototype. Make mag changes faster and smoother. Did you see the video Hate? www.magguard.com

I'll buy this when I have the money. For now I'll use the electrical tape. Good idea.

Yeah I saw the video Chase, good job. Thats where I got the idea about the change I suggested (I never did get a chance to get that prototype from ya). You might want to update it when you get the new style of MagGaurds in.

On the point of real steel, isn't really for the mag not to fall out. Sure MagGuard won't allow that to happen, but the point of Mag Guard on real steel is "Peace of Mind" Let me explain. It is proven fact the most Pistol encounters are from 7-12 feet away, once the pistol is drawn and fired the encounter last less the a few seconds, then it's all over.
No trained professional is going to go through a whole magazine. Police have to log every shot in an encounter. MagGuard offers peace of mind to that professional, because he knows no matter what their gun is ready to use when he/she needs it. Of course if they do go through a whole magazine, then reloading with MagGuard is super fast and needs to be practiced just like anything else with your gun handling.
After chasing a suspect over three fences, hitting their gun and holster in some entanglement. That the holster designers have missed. MagGuard gives them and edge over the other guy. Confidence = Power in a bad situation any little edge helps.
Basically that's it for real steel. As the designer of MagGuard that is our feelings on how it might help. CCW holders, Police, Military, and Private Security Professionals.

Chase, Ive heard of gunfights within that range in which nobody hits anybody... At least involved in the gunfight.
And regarding the .mil types, when Marine Force Recon was still around, it was their SOP to use 8 mags for their issue MEU(SOC)pistols. Now, if it was SOP to rock 8 mags wouldn't you expect to be involved in some pretty heavy shit that involves using a lot of ammo and using quick reloads?
Of course, I'm just a civvie and after talking to some of the .mil types on these boards, Ive learned that SOP can be incredibly idiotic sometimes
Don't take the above too harshly. I will say that its a good idea though, and I hope its successful.

Chaseman,
I am no expert on real firearms, but they have been designed to perform in the harshest of situations. I can't imagine the mag falling out of my Sig in any situation, except the clear intentional firm direct pressure on the mag release button. Bumping it isn't enough to dislodge the mag. I think this is true of most real firearms, except some of the cheap junk. So I don't think you will tap the mainstream LEO's, CCW holders, and Military personnel.
Regardless, airsoft mag releases are incredibly weak, and this is a great product for airsoft. That is where you will get your cream of the crop. You just need to advertise on popular airsoft websites. Perhaps send a couple freebees to the larger sites for review.
