ok, first post... im thinking of buying an m4a1 w/ ris soon (first gun)... im wondering how hard it would be to rig up a shot counter? im thinking of using a basic pedometer that ill pick up from meijer or radio shack or something. i could mount the lcd on the side, and rig up the two contact wires (that count steps) to the inside somewhere/how so they connect with each shot. that way, every shot fired counts as a 'step'. how hoard do you think that would be to do?
(also, any hints about buying my first gun? I have nothing else to say. like, where, what, etc?)

It would involve studying the circuit in your mechbox by way of documentation (to find the correct voltage of whatever component you tap), and a simple circuit of your design leading from that.... Just know that you will have to design a simple circuit (maybe just a few resistors), not just solder the two wires into your mechbox. Oh, and welcome to the boards... A good place to check out is www.uncompany.com if you can risk overseas shipping and customs, and there is a list of US retailers to the left on the main page, all good I believe.

im thinking of purchasing my gun from 21st century airsoft. ive heard bill is cool, I have nothing else to say. anyways, ya, id get it all rigged up and such.. im thinking of finding a way to get the power for it from the battery box, it cant take too much power, I have nothing else to say. also, id like to rig up a way to easily detach and reattach the lcd.. so maybe somehow put all the things but the lcd attaching wires inside, and find a way so i can just sort of plug it in and velcro it on or something, I have nothing else to say. ive never done anything like this, but ill figure it out

Try this on for size, An mp5a4 - RIS. Use a battery up in the RIS handle to power the counter and the large battery in the rear to power the gun. No wild mods required for that, simple, clean, and effective. Or you could go with an M4 solid stock model, front RIS system and do the same. Just ideas.
