Im getting a sniper rifle soon, and stock i like the look of the M24 better, but i heard it has some freaky problems with it, and you cant get as much expensive stuff for it either like the APS2 (i.e. Zero Trigger, new stock, Big HUGE silencer)
Also what FPS do you think would be nice for a sniper in woodland games, my brother and team like the idea of 500 with .36s MAX

500 - 550 with .2's is plenty. I'd probably keep it right around 520 or so, just to be sure you're below 550 (again, with .2's)

Something that should be noted the reason chrono in this country is done with .2's(in most groups etc.) is that it is a benchmark weight that related to the actual amount of energy that each BB impacts with. Soo 500fps with .36's could be like 600fps with .20's(I didn't do the math, thats just a wild guess). Just wanted to remind anyone considering upgrades about that, as the safety of everyone on the fields we play at is on everyone's hands.

Of course the sheer fact that a bb that weighs one fifth of a gram ripping through air that fast is going to deviate from intended path faster than you can blink your eye... hence the .36
And its not like im going to run up to people point blank, by the time it hits them it will probably be slowed down (by the wind) to about 275-300 fps
I would only be using this within my team, in open outdoor areas, and V.I.P. or hostage situations, and since my team is all close and they know ill be using it, theyll be sure to wear enough to protect themselves...
I was going to get the PDI upgrade for either one at WGC then put a PDI %300 in it after
And whoever voted M24 could they please clarify why?

Uh, dude? Here's a quick physics lesson. In order for a .2 BB to achieve the same Joules (Power) as a .36 moving at 500 FPS, you'd have to propel the .2 at over 650 FPS. You better tell your friends to buy some kevlar. The Cimmerians FPS -> Joule Converter is a handy tool.

Jacko, im sorry for the misunderstanding guys!
but i never said i was going to push it to the limit and go for 500 fps with .36s, i said i would be putting a PDI %300 in it, which according to arnies airsoft gives about 500 fps with . 2s
sorry again, and thanks for the tool jacko!

Thats what I was going on:)
I'm assuming you didn't mean to word it that way but I wanted to note it just so no newbs or anyone else got the wrong idea. I really would assume that you know about chronoing with .20's etc, but I wanted to clairify that a little.

If you're going for realism the CA M24 is a bit more realistic and it has no more problems than any of the other high-end bolt actions. The APS does have more to offer in the way of accessories if that's what you're into. But if you want a rifle that looks and feels like the real thing you can't beat the M24.

Im going with the m24, its more realistic, has a silencer like barrel (as in the barrel looks as fat as a silencer) and it looks sexy with a scope and bipod! (special thanks to grunt22) oh and its 525 fps with .2s jacko! I have nothing else to say
