I have a KWA G26C, and it is giving me a little grief. I used to be able to fire about 40 rounds on one green gas charge. Now, I am lucky if I can get through one regular magazine. The instructions that come with the gun are useless, so I'm not sure if I need to tighten the gas valve or not on my magazine. If I do need to tighten it, I don't know how.
-I use Green Gas, the kind that comes in the camouflage can. -I have the gun in single shot mode.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know where I can order an additional magazine grip extension? I want to get the high capacity magazine for this GBB, and I do not want to have to take the time to transfer the one on my existing magazine to the high capacity during a fire fight. Thanks.

Are you shooting this indoors or outdoors?

I'm using it indoors.

Hmm. The only thing I can think of is the valve return spring (The spring that closes the valve after it's opened) has become too weak to close the valve as quickly as it did before, thus releasing more gas than it should be. Or, it's fighting against something, more than likely grease buildup. I would really scrub and lube your mags and see if that helps first, and if not, perhaps think about replacing them.

Jacko,
Thank you for the quick reply. When you say lube the magazine, are you telling me to spray Airsoft Gun Lube on the main valve of the magazine? I'm not sure what to spray. The only instructions I have seen about gun lube say to spray some in the barrel. Thanks again.

Yeah, the steel 'button' on the back is where you want to spray, as well as down the top hole where gas is released. Make sure that button moves without any kind of 'stick' to it. and to clear the excess grease from the mag well, just load it up with gas and press the button while it's out of the gun (Aim away from the face and others!)

I've cleaned the magazine thoroughly, charged it with gas and released it as suggested. A little of the gas leaks out at the button on the back when I push it in. Is that normal, or is that my problem? Thanks.

You've found the problem. Gas shouldn't be leaking out of the 'button'. Lube it and see if that stops it, and if not, replace the valve.

Or if you don't want to get a new valve right away you could always take the valve out and replace the O-ring then see if it leaks. Might save you a few bucks -Mike

I have to side with Mike on this one. 90% of most gas leaks come from o-ring failure. They should only cost you about 0.50 to 1.00 each.

I want to thank everyone for your reponses. I have an update that I hope will prove useful to others in the future. My G26C reached a point where the slide no longer slid back after I pulled the trigger. I had to cock the gun before every shot, and eventually I heard the gas drain completely out of the magazine. I took down the gun and discovered that the plunger pin in the gas chamber cylander had come loose. I disassembled the slide components and put the pin back where it belongs. This fixed the problem, but the pin came loose again after about 50 rounds. I went through the process two more times before I finally took more drastic measures. I knew the problem was that one of the holes for the plunger pin (in the chamber) was too small to hold it in and that's why it kept coming out. So, I took a tack hammer and VERY gently tapped the pin in place until it fit snugly in both holes. I have fired off about 500 rounds since my last repair, and I have verified that the pin is still snugly in place. The real bonus to fixing this problem is that I am now able to fire about 55 rounds per charge! I have never before gotten this kind of performance. Thanks again for all of your support, and please don't give me too much grief for taking a hammer to my Glock.
