I am looking to upgrade the spring in my CA M15A4, it sayes it comes with a reinforced gear box (i think) and steel gears. Can I get away with just upgrading the spring, or do you think i should do more. Also I have been playing Airsoft for quite a while now but haven't done any mech box work. I am low on cash so I figured I would do it my self, do you think with the help of the guide at Airsoft players I could do it with not to much problem? Also to upgrade the gun to about 350fps should I get a m130 or m140 spring? Thanks for putting up with all the questions.

M130 would put you at ~430-440 FPS. M140 would be at around 470-480. 150% by PDI would put you at 350.

A M100 would put you at approx 328 fps. M110 would put you right around 350.
Note: with Systema springs, you can figure out your approximate FPS quite easily...the numerical part of the spring ID is the supposed velocity in meters/sec. Convert that to FPS, and voila.

They have 110s? Darnit, why can't I find them. 120 is what I got in my Aug, but I'm having trouble with it right now. In my opinion, if you want 350, just use a M100 spring. The highest I would ever go is M120 and even that is a little too high. If its a reinforced gearbox and steel gears, then I "think" it would come with metal bushings. If it doesn't, you need them. Also, when you open up the mechbox, make sure you keep those shimms where they are and don't lose them. You can look at the thread THOSE DAMN SHIMMS for a little help if you make a booboo

Shims do not come with a set of gears. everything you need comes with a full tuneup kit...but those are expensive... When i upgraded my G3 to an M120, i put in the following: Systema Torque Up gearset (standard) Systema alluminum Piston head Systema alluminum piston Systema M120 Systema Shim set Systema oilless bushings cost me around 130 dollars at the time if i remember... But yes, Prometheus makes an M110 spring: www.wargameclub.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=PM-PT-NLS110_cat_Prometheus Parts
