It's been awhile since I last asked for help on my Steyer Aug version 3 Mechbox (yeah, I just lately got back to fixing it). I had it working perfect for awhile, then all a'sudden, it wouldn't work on a full battery. I opened up the gearbox, and a plastic part was totally being ground up by a gear. Now I had my washers in spots that were indicated by a AK47 version 3 gearbox and had one extra after getting everything together. That's what I think the culprit is. Now can anyone give me pictures or a diagram on which washers should go on which gears for the Steyer? Also, my motor seems to have a " dead " spot. If it rotates and stops in that area, it won't start up. Ack, I love working on these things

sounds like you need your motor bushings checked.

Aight thanx. Anyone have any general washer guide for a version 3 gearbox? I know the Ak one didn't work, but hopefully it will be different then "Cover" magazines guide.

Sounds like you're having a problem with your shimming. Even if you followed some guide showing shim (washer) placement it might not work in your mechbox setup. Check out the shimming info mentioned in the Systema Super High Speed Full Tune Up Kit Installation article It'll take some time to get things right, but I believe it'll solve both your battery run time and motor problems.

DOH!!! I meant shimmings instead of washers. I feel like an idiot. Oh well, thanx Hado and Biggie.
