I have a CA MP5 A3 that will NOT fire on Semi. When i have it in safe it doesn't fire, on full it fires full but on semi it still fires full auto, anyone know why? Now this is not the biggest problem seeing as it still works and i mostly just use full auto but i would like to know what is wrong and how fix it.
Thanks

Have you upgraded your gun recently? If not, when did this problem start to occur?

You have the gearbox version 2, I presume, and I've worked on only version 3 and 1, although I'm fairly sure the fire selector works the same as the version three. What you'll have to do probably is open your gun up, pull out the gearbox, and make sure nothing is hindering the firing selector (you should see it on the outside, no need to go inside of it). When moving the firing selector up and down, it should at least click twice (semi and full). At least this is what I know from experience, you should look up some sort of version 2 gearbox guide and they'll describe how it works (maybe even an upgrade guide, because they tell you how to put it back together).

My guess is the selector plate is misaligned somehow. I know I've done that to my MP5 several times when putting it back together...if it's off just a bit, it'll work on FA, but not on semi. Try breaking it down to the gearbox (don't bother opening the 'box) and just putting it back together...that may help. If not, the problem is beyond the scope of my experience

If you don't feel comfortable taking it apart I will do it for you and give the gun back to you Sunday at the CQB game. Just a suggestion

Works for me. I will only charge you like $10 (if I even charge you at all) if I fix it since I know you and you help out on MAG a lot.
