I am more than likely gonna be selling my sr-16 to buy a CA m24 socom sniper. I did some searches and couldnt seem to find the right info. Here are some of the questions i have. 1. What type of reliabele upgrade do u recomend fot it? 2. It seems like it doesent have hop up so what weight bb do u recomend? 3. How is the pull back on the gun? 4. Can someone give me general info on it? 5. How is using a gas cylender for it in the winter?

ugh, you must be the worst person to every search anything on the web, there are millions (not literally) of threads regaurding this all over the place
but ill answer a few questions, i have an aps2 and they are supposedly nearly identical internally
1. Just get a kit from airsoft extreme, depending on how much you want to spend
2. it has hop up, again, the bb weight depends on the fps
3. it varies with the spring, go figure
4. search harder, im too lazy to do it for you
5. i would not imagine it is very good at all, the valves are supposedly very restrictive in the cylinder already and pretty much any gas gun sucks in the winter

Thanks, well i read and found several reviews saying that the newr version could take a 300% spring right out of the box giving it 420 fps with .30s. I also read using that high spring makes it hard to pull the bolt and spring. is there any upgrade u can do other than gas cylender to make it easier to pull the bolt back? Also i was unclear on its hop up doesit have it?

Hmm.... A 300% Spring Shooting 420fps... anyone else see something wrong with this picture? 300% is more along the lines of 550fps bud.... and I definitely wouldn't do anything over 150% unless you upgrade the rest of the internals.
P.S. Disregard Aformentioned.... I see you said .3's, that's closer.... all my estimates come from using .2's (which almost everyone uses for fps testing).
Also... yes, it does have hop-up.
As far as general info, just take the APS2 and mold it a little differently, stick a different company name on it.... and you have basically the same unit... peoples opinions will vary depending on their preference

"2. it has hop up, again, the bb weight depends on the fps"-Me
you cant really make it easier to pull back except through use, springs that is, springs get easier and easier to pull back over time

the stock spring, if you are going with a higher power spring, upgrade the gun, and dont expect it to beat many AEG's in stock form

When stating a FPS goal, please do so in relation to .20g bb's. It's much easier for the rest of us to offer advice if the input we get is easily understandable. People are tryin' to help you out...least you could do is make their lives as easy as possible.

Joe, the m24 has fixed hop-up, however, at wargameclb and other dealers, look under PDI hop-up units, they make adjustables for CA m24s and APS SVs as well, and they only cost $40, thought that might be an upgrade youd want. Also, considering they have "basically the same internals" im assuming you can get a zero trigger for them, you might that as well as a reinforced bolt handle for the tought spring!

i wouldnt recommend a variable (aka adjustable) hop up, although you can change the hop up for different weight bb's your shots will vary, sometimes it could shoot too high, and the next shot could be too low, its not as bad as it seems but i would suggest sticking with the non-adjustable hop ups for sniper rifles
