I have my new WA infinity championship .45, and i'm trying to customize it by installing, among other things, a custom cut metal slide. I'm having some trouble fitting the slide though.
I have it widened out to the rails so it slides smoothly with very little slop. The problem is, that once installed with everything on/in it, the slide won't return fully to battery.
It will return when i don't have the supressor locker on, however as soon as i put it on, the slide will fall short by about 2-4mm. With the compensator on the supressor locker, it falls short by about 5-7mm.
The slide can be pushed forward with great force, of course then it takes great force to pull it back. Not what i want to deal with with my gun.
So, the problem seems to be that the barrel assembly (I installed a new guarder once piece chamber and barrel assembly) rides too low in the frame, so when the supressor locker is in place, the front of the barrel can't drop so the rear of the barrel can't rise. And thus the sticking.
I've polished the roof of the slide and the top of the unseen portion of the chamber, as well as removed a bi of material on part number 122 (the small triangluar piece with rounded ends and a hole in each end to attack the inner and outer barrels to eachother and the frame. There also appears to be excess wear inside of the frame where part 122 would rub upon inserting the slide and cocking it (hence why i tried removing some material from it).
Anybody else have a suggestion as to what the problem could be or how to fix it?
I have been and still am consulting Mobius Strip's (a.k.a. Matt) guide to slide fitment, but he doesn't touch on problems like this.
