I just bought a M100 for my M4A1. However, TM doesn't have directions for taking an AEG down to the gearbox!!! Is there a good website that shows how to take down an M16 series gun?
Help.

I'd suggest you get some metal bushing for your gearbox too, as long as you're opening it up and adding a spring. As for getting the gun apart and getting into the mechbox, check out www.airsoftplayers.com . They have a couple of upgrade guides that give you a good idea of how things work and fit inside the mechbox, and they also have AEG parts diagrams that help you get the gun taken apart. Good luck!

thanks for the advice... and i did get metal bushings when I ordered the spring... (now where the hell do they go...)
I guess the best way to learn anything is to do it yourself... and fix it yourself when you break it.

Just remember this thread when you take your gun apart for the 5th time because it still doesn't work.

I would suggest not taking it apart unless you really know what you are doing. There are tutorials online but if I were you I would have someone who knows what they are doing work on the gun. I took my AK gearbox apart to put in a new spring and after about two weeks of working on it I gave up and sent it to WTS-Mike.

Don’t let these guys scare you, it’s really not that hard. When you take it down just be extremely careful, when you separate the two halves be gentle, you should be able to keep everything in place then you can look and see how its all suppose to go. After that it’s just replacing parts with the upgraded parts. I don’t know why Dice had trouble with the AK gear box, the ver. 3 gear box is the easiest to work with in my mind. A little while ago Frostee, Hado and myself opened up my SR16’s gearbox which is the ver. 2 box (same as your m4) and the only major difference was that the ver 2 lacks a mount for the motor other then that it’s pretty much the same. Once you have worked on one it’s all pretty much the same, and it’s easy after your first successful take down and put back together. It’s so easy after the first time you might find yourself doing what I did…. Taking it down mixing the parts up and putting it back together for fun… give it a go, if you cant get it back together just make sure you don’t lose any parts then send it to Mike.
