I just recently bought a G3 Sg-1 from Redwolfairsoft.com and I haven't been able to shoot more than about 5 rounds. I bought an accurate barrel so I had my brother (engineer) install it for me and return all the parts the way they were. Now every time I shoot either nothing comes out or I fire semi auto about 5 times and they all come out at once or dribble out. What the hell is wrong with my gun? Any advice would be much appreciated.

It sounds to me like your brother forgot to install the hop-up nubbin. That's what presses down and holds the bbs inside the breach, ready to be hit by a gush of air blown at them from the cylinder/nozzle/piston.
Perhaps you should have him check to see if that piece is still there.

Behold, fellow Airosfters...the curse of the SG/1.
yeah, sounds like a hopup issue to me as well. check it over again. luckily, the G3 is easy to disassemble...so remove the barrel, and have a looksie inside. also check the barrel for obstructions or damage. look through the barrel at a lamp or window, you can easily see any imperfections along the bore that way.

And always remember...engineers design things, they don't build them. ;D

alright it is completely dissmantled right now.. the barrel has nothing in it and the hop up seems to be right.. there is a piece (very small) that shows it should be in by the diagram but not there.. could this be it? But it seems to me, if it were in the hop up the dial wouldn't push it down all the way so I'm kind of confused. where should I go to get one if that is the problem? I'll leave it dissmantled until someone posts.

If you're missing that little "nubbin", as Newman calls it, then that's almost certainly your problem. That tiny cylinder of rubber is what pushes the hop-up sleeve down into the barrel, when pressure is applied to the arm of the hop adjuster. I've heard that it can be replaced by a peice of insulation from wire, so that might be a cheap thing to try first. Otherwise, I don't think just that tiny rubber peice is available on its own, and you'll need to buy a whole new hop-up rubber that should come with both the hop-up sleeve and nubbin. You might want to check www.the6mmshop.com, since they were having a sale clearing out leftover inventory and had a few Guarder replacement hop-up units last time I checked.

I actually might have a spare one that Jackstraw kindly included for me when I bought his SR-16 last year.
