I have a Glock 26 springer made my Academy *shudder*. A lot of people think the G26 is too small, but even my big gorilla hands fit around it just fine. Feels even more comfortable to hold than my G18.
Which Glock 26 did you have in mind? There's the
Marui, the KJW Glock27 (yeah yeah, you know they're the same) and the recently released KSC versions.
I'd go for the KSC model myself. I'm very pleased with both my KSC G18 and M92 Elite so I'm sure their G26 would be just as great if not better.
Edit: Here's a KSC G26 review I just found on ASZ. Review by Karl Weinberg.
"Here goes:
In general, the KSC Glocks are quite good guns. I have two G18Cs and now a G26, and they are both excellent GBBs.
I have the Taiwanese version of the KSC G26. My friend bought it in HK a few days ago and speedposted it to me. Apparently, the Japanese version needs to be modified before it can take Green Gas/Top Gas, but the Taiwanese version can take those high powered gas straight out of the box. The Taiwanese version is only $390HKD, which equates to less than $40 USD, (HK street price).
At first glance:
When opening the box, there are a few things there and a few things not there. The things which are there is the gun, one 15 round mag, BB loader, Taiwanese BBs, parts list diagram, and 3 types of magazine butt plates (Short, Normal, extended (for G19 mags)). The things that are missing are the Hop-up adjustment tools and the Manual.
The craftmenship of the gun is superb. The shine of the pistol frame that most people complain about the KSC glocks have gone, replaced with the original glock textured finish. The slide is more shiny compared to the G18Cs, but the texturing is still there. Instead of having the glock logo, it has a "G". However, the most interesting thing is that the seam lines on the slide has been minimised compared to the G17/G18Cs, which makes it look less like a BB gun.
There is no 20mm rail to mount any accessories. In front of the trigger guard, there is the aluminium plate printed with the serial DEA147US. Compared to the G18Cs which have CQB911US.
In picking it up, the gun feels dense (more dense than the G18C and on par with my WA 92FS). It seems less plasticly than the Tokyo Marui G26, but it is lighter. The sights are what you would expect from a KSC glock; one front dot and a "U" white outline at the rear sight. In loading the BBs, the same BB hold back mechanism exist for the magazine as the rest of the KSC glock mags, making mag loading easy. It holds 15 rounds.
Firing and performance:
I charged the mag with R-134a. When firing, the kick is surprisingly powerful, much more powerful than a TM G26 on 134a, much like the G18Cs. The power is higher than my WA 92FS PV on R-134a (it is an old gun, so it could be a bit worn), though slightly less than my G18C.
Accuracy unmodified is very good, better than the KSC G17 and much more than my G18Cs. There seems to be less barrel wobble than its precedessors. It has not had a feed jam yet, unlike both my G18Cs when I first received them. The shot groupings at 8 metres are around 4cms for the 15 rounds I fired.
Unlike the KSC G34/G18C/G17, the inner barrel mounting is metal instead of plastic. This could've contributed to its accuracy.
The gun can also take the G19 mags, G17 mags, and G18C long mags. With R-134a, at 20*C, it can last 4 mags average, with very little cool down effects.
However there are a few points to note: like one of the KSC G34s I have tested, the inner barrel hop up section has been not so well cut, which then applies a pressure against the Hop-up rubber, resulting in sideways hop-up spin at around 15 metres. The section of the inner barrel needs to be modified to improve the long range trajectory.
Also, there are rubber cast seam lines inside the hop-up rubbber. They are not usually there on the G34s or the G18cs that I have come across. I do not know whether they would affect the accuracy of the gun. I have removed it for mine.
As well, with most KSC glocks, the hop-up is up even though the hop-up dial is set on minimum, but since at minimum the hop-up is just right for 0.2g BBs, it is not a big worry.
Finally:
The Taiwanese KSC Glock 26 is a GBB of very high quality and performance. It is probably one of the most cost effective sidearms you can get, with a dirt cheap price, good looks and performance to match even WA guns. Accuracy is good, and gas efficiency is very good, but the main bonus is its ability to take any KSC Glock mags, meaning that the gun can expand its abilities by just changing mags.
Though some parts of the gun is affected by QC problems, overall the gun works and works well. I would recommend this gun to anyone looking for a trusty sidearm.
Actually I am getting another one."
