Hrm...i've been thinking about this for a while... so far we've been into rural/wooded combat...neglecting the fact that most modern day combat occurs in an urban scenario. i think we need to take into consideration this aspect of warfare... whether it be through building a killhouse... or finding someplace to exercise it....anyone have any ideas? if anyone wants to do it...i'll gladdly help out...

I'd love to have some sort of urban warfare type thing. It would be nice if we could find some empty warehouse or factory to have a couple skirmishes in. A place with a couple small buildings would also be cool, there could be snipers on the roofs and stuff like that.

gee...i wonder who one of the snipers would be... ;D anyways...i was asking my buddy earlier today... his father's friend is in charge of the old Bon Secours hospital in downtown Detroit... now...this place is abandoned...it has been for about a year now... the hospital went bankrupt...and operated up til the last minute it could...then it shut down... there's blood on the floors in the ER...instruments lying everywhere...the morgue has spilled liquids and looks like it's ready for another autopsy... all in all...the hospital is ready for business....if you ignore that biohazard thing... it was an interesting tour...that's for sure... the lights all work...and it just looks like everyone disappeared inside...it was erie... it would have been a great place to airsoft... but they're preping it for demo now...curses.

Not to take this thread into the land of "I wish....", but there is the old state hospital up here in TC. A whole bunch of big, old bldgs. that we are trying to find some use for. Of course using one of them for a milsim would freak out the "save the bldgs" folks. Meanwhile the roofs are falling apart in places and they need some repair. Guess it's better to let them crumble and be torn down then charge a little for "alternative, non-detrimental uses" that could fund repairs...... Urban would be a blast, finding a place is 1/2 the challenge. Easier for you folks down there than up here due to the development of your area. We'll all have to keep our eyes peeled. There's like a whole abandoned resort over in England they use for airsoft.....think it's called Dragon's Lair. Where is that durn link.....grrrrr........ Found it!! www.firkit.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/dragonvalley/index.htm

The only thing wrong with the old hospital up here in TC mike is that it is CREEPY! I have been inside of their even in the day time and it is pitch black once you get down to the first floor. Not to mention all the paranormal thing that go on in there, it gives me the siver just to remember some of the stuff that Chewy and I have seen in there....
P.S. It is also illegal to be in the buildings....

OK, OK so we stay off the first floor (unless I bring the SureFires), we bring a priest for the paranormal stuff, and you can stay outside. I mean I don't know any spook that can get past Zeus when he's loaded up with BB's soaked in holy water!
Ya' just had to bring up the legal side of things!? I knew it was illegal, but I was hopin' that maybe we'd get special dispensation?
Any other ideas up here in the wild northland?

I think the hospital sounds great. I mean, where else will you get the chance to play a GhostBusters scenario?
Who You Gonna Call? ;D

Urban combat sure does sound like a good idea, but like most of you have already said finding a place to play will be the tough part. I know Janus plans to hook up a couple of trailers or something like that to make a small kill house, but who knows when all that will actually happen. But it's still the closest thing we'll have. Untill then, we can all day dream about all the perfect spots we've seen. Aah, like this one: Every time I go down to Detroit I see an old run down Paint factory. Its a couple stories high, most of the windows look broken , the place is just falling apart. But every time I see it I just think it would be the most amazing place to play. But then I think to myself maybe it's a crackhouse or something like that and my dreams of playing there are soon over. I'm sure if some crackmonkey sees me coming down the hall dressed in my CQB gear/ Detroit SRT patches blazing I don't think they'd like that too much..aaand...I might just get shot. So, doh. Arrgh, if we lived in my old town in Slovakia we wouldn't have any trouble at all finding urban environments. There are so many unfinished buildings to play in, so many run down historical buildings too. And the only people in them would be gypsys which I don't care much for. So a bb or 2 to the crotch-tastic region will soon send them running. *sigh*

The best place has to be Germany. (hear me out)
I went there the summer of '99. Naturally we went to about 2 dozen castles. Some of these castles didn't have anybody in them. Some of them are just sitting around and waiting to be repaired. You see I know a lot of German friends, they tell me that when they were young they would play in the castles and nobody NOBODY would have a problem. A polish friend went to Germany last summer and they decided to randomly go to a castle that they saw on a hill. When they got there, a construction/clean up crew were there restoring the place. They allowed my friends family in to look around for a few bottles of brew that they were carrying for later. They construction guys even invited them back!
Now, most of these castles are one/two stories, and would be kind of a trek to go to. But just think: airsoft in a 400 year old castle!
Now, how would I get my AEG to Germany?
If you want to know more about urban combat. The LK airsoft guys and I have played many CQB games. Maybe when all of us come back we can arrange a game or two.

Yeah .. around germany ive heard is really good!. My Friend just moved here from gbg, sweden and he said that it would be really cool to play there mostly because nobody cares much. getting an aeg across wouldnt be hard.. obviously if you were to go u would know some1 that lives there ... do it the same way that it gets to you ... MAIL! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Dont see where that could go wrong...well theres little chance

No but seriously JackStraw, Chewy, his brother, and I have gone in their a multiple of times taking video cameras in their and stuff. Like we have seen doors close before our own eyes and there will be a 40 degree difference in room temperatures. One room will be normal and the room next to it will be freezing. Plus we found a corador wher the was a noos hanging there...*Shiver* When you get to the bottem levels it feels like someone is watching you all the time and sneaking up on you...*another shiver* Theirs books thrown around all over the place, paint chipping off the walls, floors bend when you step on them, not a pretty sight... Then you think of all that went on to the the people in their, you did know it used to be a mental hospital before they shut it down?...IT IS FREAKY!!! ;D
