Well, AIM! You will get 90% more kills and Use 90% less ammo if you AIM. Use cover. Be silent. Play as a team member… mmm… never shoot Viking and you should be okay. BTW welcome to the boards homie!

I really don't know what you mean as far as tactics. That covers a lot of ground. I'll try and see what I can do for basics.
Open Envirement- Work in squads, it usually means a higher chance of survival versus when you go Rambo. Stay quiet, unnatural noices will ALWAYS alert an enemy to your presence. Use formations while searching for the enemy, my personal favorite is a staggered line, especially when I'm hunting the enemy. Develop hand signals, the enemy won't hear you communicating. Never use trails, it's almost a guarentee that the enemy has an ambush set up, although moving paralel to a trail is usually safe. Stay off of ridge lines, if you don't, the best camo in the world won't save you. That's all I can think of for outdoors invirements.
CQB- Again, work in squads, never have less than two people working together. Stay quiet, sound richochets indoors. Again, use hand signals, no unnecessary talking. Keep your gear snug, nothing worse than getting nailed because something came loose and made noise. Your primary shouldn't be longer than your arm. No headshots, it leads to killer migraines and pisses people off. Don't upgrade your CQB primary, the ranges don't merit it and all you accomplish is making bigger welts.
Last, but most certainly not least, be a gentleman and acknoledge a hit when you are shot.

This was a post on Airsoft Retreat. Its by Stinger, an Admin there.
These are some tactics I wrote on a website some time ago. I'll just paste them in here. Most are taken from Army Rangers and Army Manuals. Looking: 1. Don't look at shrubs or trees, look through them, it is possible that an enemy could be hiding in or behind one. 2. Don't scan terrain quickly with your eyes, it creates a blur. View from one thing to another, and give your brain enough time to register what you see. 3. Do not look for a whole human being; instead look for a boot, face, hand, etc. Travel: 1. Use shadows as much as possible, to conceal your body. 2. Humans normally travel along predictable routes (roads, trails, along rivers, etc.) Stay off these routes as much as possible, it will make it harder for the enemy to track you. 3. When packing your equipment, pack it to minimize noise, light reflection, and snag problems. 4. Use the buddy system, to cover each other. 5. Do not walk at a steady pace, no other creature except man does. 6. Cross open areas quickly, and at narrowest and lowest points. 7. When you are not moving, get down. 8. When moving along hills, stay just below the top. 9. Maintain eye contact with team members while on patrol. 10. When looking to see what is on the other side of an obstacle (wall, vehicle, tent) lie on your stomach, and peek around with your head only. This decreases your chance of being seen.
